I dare to say pleasures themselves are not sin, depending on what such are. If our pleasure is a new Porsche... not good. If our pleasure is to live in peace, help others, regardless who they are and if we have children, spend more time with them... very good, I dare to say. Can we agree?

Very good teaching. I always asked, why do people buy new cars that won't remain new forever? All they do is make themselves look good on the outside, while being broken in the inside. Some realize this fallacy, and only blame "capitalism", yet they never touch the actual root

It is always good to ask "what would Jesus do?" And if we come to the conclusion "I don't think so", then it's better for us not to do it. As for working out, I would say if it is merely for our health and not for self glorification. And music... I think the popular music is to be avoided, not good for us, full of occult spirits. Same goes for most of the Christian music, all this "Christian" rock, "Christian" metal, "Christian" rap etc. is an oxymoron, it is a deception of the music industry. However, home made music would be something different, I myself play banjo and sing hymns in a bluegrass style, I also wrote some scriptural songs myself (Ephesians 5:19). Also a great sermon on that topic is "Should I take the TV out of my house?" by brother Clinton (TheWordprophet). I know people do not like him much, but in many things he is very right (also with his rebuke against the Roman Catholic trinity). Oh, and he is a great biblical musician too.

I may hear you wrong, but it sounds like you are saying that the action of the crucifixion was just an extraordinary act of love, like He came to show us how to love, and the most extreme example of that is to die for the other. As true as that is, it misses The whole other side of the equation, He had to die to defeat death, sin, and the devil. Simply reducing Jesus to a nice guy who showed love, without the need for His sacrifice is partial Christianity. Again, maybe I'm hearing you wrong, but it caught my ear. Blessings, brother!

I want to compliment you humility to be open to the possibility to misunderstanding and your graciousness to give a blessing. GodIsMyJudge and I both share the burden to help people come out of the religions of the Antichrists and return to the Faith once for all time passed down to the Saints. This faith places Jesus as The Teacher and the prophet of prophets. We have the voice of God who said this is my beloved son- listen to him. And this is what the closest on earth to Jesus , the apostles testified. Follow me just as I follow Christ. So my challenge to you and many abroad is…. Theology doesn’t save a man - practicing piety does. Jesus is the perfect pattern of piety. Jesus did not need to die for us to be forgiven. God the father could’ve simply nodded his head and death would have fled from us. But we would still be corrupted from practicing sin. He experienced death by the world to show us that we too must die to this world and not love it nor the culture in it so that we can be freed to love God and obey him. Following the teachings and pattern of Life (Jesus) is perfect love, eternal life, the way to God in heaven. So much of this world’s culture is wrapped up in Beauty and colors, the lust of the eyes, pleasure, luxury, and fun, the lust of the flesh, and power, wealth, admiration from men, The pride of life. What I find so dangerous in today’s novel theology is that they place knowledge of Jesus blood, death, or resurrection in a peculiar place as if that was essential. Jesus said I am the way, follow me. Will you be of the many that Jesus will say to, “Why do you call me lord lord and do not what I say?”
@stephanieyeshuaislife72362 жыл бұрын
I agree with much of what you say, however "God the father could’ve simply nodded his head and death would have fled from us" Respectfully, I don't believe that is the case, as God is a righteous judge. Sin demands payment.

I was of the same opinion at one time. I appreciated the zeal for God that I found in those circles however I was quickly corrected after reading the writing of the early church. Justin martyr and Trypho the Jew, an early Christian writing has been the most detailed work I’ve read that could prove from the Law and Prophets the removal of the covenant of Moses. Then I saw that most of the New Testament is devoted to the very subject. What do you have to lose by looking into the subject?

A very intriguing idea. Would jesus get married and have children? Would jesus own a house? Would jesus buy his mother a birthday gift? Living exactly like Jesus did isn't the only way to live a life of ministry. Actually in the modern world living like Jesus would no doubt get your kids taken away by the state...
@SCHNEIDSz3 жыл бұрын
I agree that God directs people to different ministries. For example, although Jesus was homeless, he was often given a place to stay by people who owned houses. But in the fear of God, we ought to search our motives. Is it for God's service, or is it for our comfort/pleasure? I would agree with your last statement. It could be reason to give consideration to Paul's words "because of the present distress... it's better to remain unmarried."

Hahaha! A soul-winner to God is one who helps one love not the world nor the things in the world but God and the customs of His Kingdom. A soul-loser is one who gains the world- friendship with the world is hatred with God. This is how we know the love of God does remain in us - that we obey his commands. Anyone who has this hope purifies himself just as Jesus is pure.

@@ahmedmirza5398 I would very much disagree, and would say that everything Paul said is in harmony with Jesus. I say that from the evidence I see in scripture, the early church writings, and reading Romans in 1 sitting through Jesus’s teachings. I would also say that most people have only been able to understand Paul from one twisted angle. the early church writes that Paul was faithful to the end, and the churches he helped establish and support were in one accord with the other churches teachings and practices. Also 2Pet.3:13-18 would have the testimony of Peter that what he taught was true. Interestingly Eusebius’s Church History recorded that Paul was an earlier writer and much of he wrote was before 2Peter. I think Paul would rather be considered a apostle of satan by man and people understand and follow Jesus correctly rather than follow a false Jesus and gospel. I would recommend Scroll publishing’s teaching on reconciling Paul and James, it helped me. God bless you

Is it sin to have a 9~5 job
@SCHNEIDSz3 жыл бұрын
I think one would need more details before making a general judgment that all 9-5 jobs are sin. What kind of work? What is the environment like, or the people that you work with? Assuming it is a company job, why do you work for a company rather than a smaller business with more flexibility? I worked a 9-5 job for a while, and while I don't think that I was sinning while I was there, it felt like a potential snare, something that would not be good for me to stay in. For one, the job was not very flexible for being able to do things for the Lord (I could only take set vacation days on rare occasions.) Second, the environment was very worldly, and with that there are temptations to be entangled in godless conversation. Last, I think the easy paycheck was also a snare. Submitting to the inflexibility has the benefit of being payed well, and being payed consistently. Jesus warns many times about the deceitfulness of riches; these things can choke out our desire for the Kingdom. After my college debt was payed off, I was able to get out of that job, and now I am currently working smaller construction/labor jobs that allow for flexibility. I am able to work with brothers and take time off if needed to go on trips for preaching or other kingdom work. Hope these thoughts can be helpful.
