Thank you brother and your bear reminds me of something. I used to shave myself, which itself is not against the new Testament, since the commandment was of the of Moses, and we are under the kingdom teachings, not the OT law, but now I was told by God not to shave myself, so I no longer do

What are your thoughts on living 24/7 with other believers?
@SCHNEIDSz3 жыл бұрын
I think we should pursue it! Being around brethren is the fastest way to be pruned and realize our faults, I believe. Also, the more we are looking for opportunities to love and serve each other, the more that ends up looking like 24/7 fellowship. Our community is spread out, so we are not necessarily with others 24/7. I'm thankful to work with brothers during the day, and often share evening meals or have meetings through the week. It is a considerably greater blessing than the seasons that I have not had fellowship. How about yourself? What are your thoughts on christian community?

@@SCHNEIDSz I completely agree with what you said. I believe we are to be as the 1st century Christians who sold all things and had all things in common, with no one in need. Doing the work of the Lord 24/7. This type of living would truly provide the “iron sharpens iron” atmosphere, where we would be able to practice accountability and encourage one another to stay strong in the faith. I’ve come to the point where I don’t want to work for money at all period, because money is the blood of this beast system. And the love of money is the root of ALL EVIL. Deep down inside, we all have a love of money, because we are raised to believes that that’s where our security comes from. That without it, we cannot live, or even buy basic necessities. Satan has done a great job at making 99% of believers out their faith in HIS commerce, instead of living by faith as the birds who do not worry. I believe when Christ came, he took the curse off of Adam of “by the sweat of your brow you shall eat”. And now, we are meant take upon the yoke of Christ, serving God only, not God and mammon.

@@StrongBodyandMind33 I appreciate the first part of your message. I have thought similar things to the second part of your message, but I've come to different conclusions. For a while, I was following certain groups, especially one KZbin channel, that really hammered hard on not working for money. The argument comes from changing Jesus' statement "you cannot serve God and riches" to "you cannot work for God and money." First, I think there is a difference in working to earn money and working to accumulate wealth. The second is what I believe Jesus is referring to. I think from the rest of the new testament, we see a broader teaching on the subject of money. Paul commands thieves to no longer steal, but to "work with their hands what is good, that they may share with those in need." He commands idle people that expected free living that "if a man does not work, he should not eat." Therefore, I think it is necessary that everyone is working. This can be spiritual work, and this can be manual labor jobs. I think it is important that we are useful workers, even in a natural way. That we are using the life that God has given to benefit people, spiritually and physically. Regarding the thought about Jesus removing the curse given to Adam, I am interested to know more about what you mean. Food still grows with thorns and requires cultivation, doesn't it? I think there is an illusion to not having to work that can only come from being in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. I can eat sumptuously from the dumpster and have way more than I need for free. But even if these basic needs are met, I believe it is the loving thing to work and be able to give alms like Jesus also commands. I would be interested to hear your thoughts!

Please look for an Orthodox Church in your area

I have looked into the Orthodox church, but I do not think that they are Orthodox in the meaning of the word. There are many sins and practices that my conscience does not allow me to partake in. I appreciate much of their theological beliefs, but their approval of war, wealth, divorce and remarriage, idolatry...I don't think they have a lampstand.
