Idea!! Do an old timey photo and have your grandparents write a note on the back - something cute or just classic date/picture description, and then do clear resin so you also preserve their handwriting on the back.

I have tried many forms of sealing photos and the best options I've found were either laminating or sealing with packing tape on both sides. @ItsLaurenE
@ItsLaurenE 5 жыл бұрын
You can but it shows the overlapping lines and if you cut too close to the seal you're screwed. In theory this too can happen laminating but it actually has a edge around the image which is a great guide line for where to cut. Also I've gotten packs of laminate sheets at goodwill for less price than clear packing tape. It really depends on how often you would need to do this process for it to beneficially effect price.
@deannahawkins2795

@@deannahawkins2795 I had a few that drove me nuts w overlapping and others that didn't. I too do jewelry so working w smaller images and tape works well. My clumsy hands also are notorious for somehow touching the tape. I hate getting finger prints everywhere 🤣🤣 certainly not knocking tape. In my case I was happy for my laminator and more so when I didn't need it. But I love when we share our different experiences cause what works for me might not for another. We need options cause resin has such a temper when it wants too.

@@EllieMandyArt Hello! I am also under the impression that if you use waterproof photo paper, you could print from inkjet and put into resin. Or to use an acrylic clear spray on the water proof paper...maybe... And there was one more...but I cannot remember at this time!!! LOL For that matter, any clear spray pain that we already use on our tumblers should work. BUT, I like the laminating idea!!! SWEET!!! From acrylic paint pouring, Christine Welch "picks" up paint drippings with a spatula, "slides" the paint onto the waterproof photo paper (methinks glossy), and after it has cured she uses it in snap jewelry. For polymer clay, to set micas, we use sscrylic spray... Thank you for the vinyl!!! I adore how we discuss our options! Wonderful community, here! Thank you! -Darlene

You can also use a copy of your photo... if its a film camera photo, you would have to scan it and print it. And then coat it with modge podge, front and back if you arent adhering it to something else before you pour the resin (like adhering it to a wood tray that you plan on pouring resin on) Just make sure you coat it at least twice with mod pode and you will be fine to use it in resin. Also, in lieu of mod podge, you can make a diy version and just use 2 parts elmers glue and 1 part water, mix it up and there is your homemade mod podge. :) Love your channel :) Oh and how you did your molds... you could put a thin layer of resin, let it cure, then mod podge your photo down to the resin and then coat the top of the photo with mod podge. Either way would work :)

Shoutout to a fellow Jeffree Star fan! We have the same shirt lol from the Mystery Box :D I absolutely love the way all of these turned out, but I think the one with your brother and sister is the best. It just makes the picture pop so well. Also! I have gotten my supplies in and made my first pieces, and they're all still curing. BUT I'M SO EXCITEDDD (you should really put that on some merch) to see them later! So be on the lookout for an IG tag soon ;)

Love, love, love these!!! But I must say I was freaking out when you used the laminator. In my many years of office work, you always had to put your plastic sheet between 2 thin cardboard sheets before running it through. So I was yelling at my phone, "No, Stop, it's gonna melt"! Hahahaha!

Hey there, youngster. 😊 I think you’re not very experienced with actual photographs. You put your fingerprints all over them. In time the acids and oils will smudge. This is the reason for the white borders on OG photos; they’re not just there for style. 😉 But then again, these weren’t literally original photos. 🤔 But don’t touch original real photos! New sub n bell here. 😃👍🏻

I expect to see the cut edges of laminated plastic in the end product, but am truly amazed. Another fun way to use my laminating machine whoop whoop 🙌🏻 Watching the alcohol ink work with the resin was kinda hypnotic 🤩

I know this is an old video, so my comment is going into KZbin wasteland, but I HAVE to say- I love ALL of your resin art, but the Christmas ornaments I think are the sweetest things EVER, and if I did resin art, my whole Christmas tree would be weighed down by 100 resin photo ornaments...imagine how they'll look with a little Christmas light behind them too!! (You already know, since it's already past Christmas- but just, wow!)

Super cool idea. I too yelled at the tv for you to put all the pictures in the big sleeve but also be careful about trimming the photos. Like how you clipped the corners of the g-pa picture to fit the circle, technically it’s vulnerable again to water and liquid leak in ❤️
