It would be so satisfying to have a fridge full of the Polaroids as magnets. I love that there’s a little depth and that it’s not just flat.

I'm thinking it would be fun to make them into the shakers, but make them like snowglobs so you could shake them and have snow floating around.

Hello! I’m a resin artist as well and just thought I’d help ya out by telling you that you don’t have to wait for each layer to completely cure! If you wait an hour or two between layers they won’t mix☺️

Sylvia Slaunwhite I get the gallons of allumilite clear cast it’s usually around 24 hours till it’s completely cured but you can add new layers after about an hour without them mixing. I demold around 12 hours and it’s pretty firm then

I've been putting photos in resin for years. I use Mod Podge for paper giving them 2-3 coats and it works beautifully. The key is letting them air dry for a good 8 hours (or cheat using a fan.) No more laminate. : )

Couldn’t you just pour whatever color resin into the mould, let it cure, take them out of the moulds, THEN place your photos in the areas for the photos and cover with clear resin?

I'm sooooo sorry to be a party pooper but glitter, (unless biodegradable/edible) is so bad for our oceans and our animals. Its small enough to get through filters and is easily swallowed by all our sea creatures, large and small. Just something to think about Xxx
@mommadeth3066
@mommadeth3066 4 жыл бұрын
Nicola Nicola pretty sure the brands she uses are biodegradable since glitters been such a big topic for years. Should go over to the chick that makes bath bombs and comment there since she doesn’t use biodegradable glitters and those actually go into the sink rather than resin that hardens and gets tossed
@mommadeth3066
@mommadeth3066 4 жыл бұрын
Nicola Nicola it also isn’t that hard to look at the brands of mica and glitter she uses and go research it. I would be more concerned about the mica powders and where they are mined from as most mica comes out India where they use children to pull it out while parents also work in the mines. Mines have collapsed on these kids killing them yet mica is still used in every day product.

Oh sweet Heather, the keychains you used in my opinion are of better quality. I live in the U.k. and I remember them being around in the mid seventies ( my early teen years ) when you could purchase them as novality keyrings anywhere from the local shop right up to Woolworths!!!. With your wacky sense of humour and smile keep up the good work, as I look forward each week to your new video's. Please involve Shawn more, as you both make such a good team. Yes those are basically shaker molds. I just started doing shakers and after about 5 tries, I got it. On to these, they are adorable. I do think they looked better with the open holes though. Maybe do a set without the resin filler in the front? The strip would be cool with galaxy pictures and make it a shaker with pretty glitter. Use baby oil as filler.

The key chains are very cool. I'm wanting to learn more about resin. It's one craft I've never tried, and I've tried A LOT! LOL

Hey Heather, these look awesome. I must get these molds! When laminating, I put all of my photos/images into one pocket when there's room and just cut them out to save the plastic waste and to save money on wasted pockets.

Hi. Does the gold mica powder rub off the gold one (the one with three tiny photos)? Because it was brushed onto the mold rather than applied inside the resin. Thank you.

These are so totally awesome! Just a tiny point... The center square on the back side of a Polaroid is black. (The trim is still white.) Just a tiny 'FYI'. XOXO
