Just a suggestion for all you crafters out there. If you don't have the glue. Mod Podge should work too. Especially the one for dish washer safe. Again just another alternative. Peace Love and Harmony. ✌👍🤗😁

Yesss I use Mod Podge Glossy. It is easier to smooth out and dries faster. Also has less brush marks. Your piece turned out really nice. Buy a little craft paint size bottle of the Mod Podge to test and see if you like it as well. I think you may like it better.

Not well ventilated at all - not willing to wear the mask all the time using it AND while it's curing, and I would have to in this small apt. because the fumes would stay in here constantly. So, I decided to go with UV resin, am enjoying it so far. Good LUck - have fun!

Better idea for you instead of messing with all that "tacky" tacky glue: before you pour the reasin, grape a can of clear spray sealer/top coat. Spray both sides of the paper, when it's dry, put a thin layer of clear then your sealed paper circle. You can put the dots in the rim. Only fill half way, just enough to cover the paper, once it's cured, finish with a color resin, much less work, will use less resin to Great use of your left over dots. I have tons of left overs I'm holding onto for inspiration

@ResinBelle
@ResinBelle 11 ай бұрын
Until the tacky glue is dry and 100% clear. I can't give you an exact time because everyone has different weather conditions where they live. Different humidities etc. But the glue goes on white and dries clear, so when clear is dry. If there are any cloudy white areas then it's not ready.

Do you find that the type of heat gun you used works better or as well as the actual flame does? I'm about to invest in one or the other, but trying to gather opinions. Seems like the kind you used also helps spread the resin around a bit. Suggestions? By the way, those coasters are gorgeous!!
@ResinBelle
@ResinBelle Жыл бұрын
In my opinion a craft heat gun used for paper embossing powders is pretty amazing for small projects. I don't use fire of any kind now. For larger projects like tables or deep pours a bigger heat gun may be needed. But yes it does help move Resin around especially into fine details or skinny crevaces in molds (i.e. Antennae in butterfly molds, horns on unicorns)

How long do you have to wait for the glue to dry before adding resin?
@ResinBelle
@ResinBelle 2 жыл бұрын
Well that's a bit difficult to answer because it will be different for most people depending on temperature, humidity etc where you are. The good thing about Aleenes tacky glue is that it's white but dries clear. Once all of it is completely clear it's ready for resin.

Hi! Beautiful work. I keep buying resins and they all cure soft and flexible. Do you have a recommendation on an acrylic resin that cures hard? Like that coaster? Or am I doing something wrong?
@ResinBelle
@ResinBelle 2 жыл бұрын
There are a number of reason resin may cure soft. Heat, cold, humidity, environment. Using too much alcohol or alcohol inks. Using pigments or inclusions that aren't compatible with the resin. Brand of resin, type of resin. Improper portions of both A and B parts. Improper mixing of both parts.

The issue is that resin of any kind tends to soak into paper unevenly often creating dark splotches that can ruin a piece. The glue is to seal the paper, protecting it from the resin. Then you add a top coat of resin to have a hard surface and seal everything in.

@@ResinBelle ahhhhh...but do you know on amazon they sell resin paper so would not have to go through all that🤗. I have used it several times for my resin keychain when you need a picture. What resin do you use? I love how the coaster turned out! I just made some with scrapbook paper as well, and they didn't turn out well. I used too much glitter, so it's hard to see the paper. 😂

I use Alumilite Clear Cast. I put glitter in my resin for coaster but just clear on top of the paper. Glitter is life!

I wonder if I could use all my saved wallpaper scraps? And, why not add your paper & bubbles, and fun stuff while making the coaster first?

It is out of the mold. I didn't show the part where I made it because I showed making one in the last fail proof Paper in resin video. This was a quicker way to show the technique.

I went back and watched it at the beginning and I think what we thought was a mold was actually a coaster she had made from a mold and just added to it

@@lorrainea4185 She was doing the demonstration with an already made coaster people, it was just made in a white-ish glittered color that looked like the same color of a mold, but it was a completely finished DIY coaster that she had already made. Sorry, but I feel like I just had to say this, you explained it all in the beginning.

I would almost think you could do it with a couple layers of clear spray paint on both sizes. It's worth a try.

Laminating is a great technique. If someone doesn't have a laminator or if you don't like seeing the edges of the laminate around the image this is a good alternative. So many cool techniques to try! 🙂

You should wear gloves and a mask love as your lungs can be affected by the resin.. It can happen all of a sudden if your doing this alot. Please take care and look it up for yourself , I would hate for you to suddenly find yourself breathless and coughing feeling unwell and not realise it's from the resin in the air.. God Bless. xxx
