Until the tacky glue is dry and 100% clear. I can't give you an exact time because everyone has different weather conditions where they live. Different humidities etc. But the glue goes on white and dries clear, so when clear is dry. If there are any cloudy white areas then it's not ready.

Better idea for you instead of messing with all that "tacky" tacky glue: before you pour the reasin, grape a can of clear spray sealer/top coat. Spray both sides of the paper, when it's dry, put a thin layer of clear then your sealed paper circle. You can put the dots in the rim. Only fill half way, just enough to cover the paper, once it's cured, finish with a color resin, much less work, will use less resin to Great use of your left over dots. I have tons of left overs I'm holding onto for inspiration

In my opinion a craft heat gun used for paper embossing powders is pretty amazing for small projects. I don't use fire of any kind now. For larger projects like tables or deep pours a bigger heat gun may be needed. But yes it does help move Resin around especially into fine details or skinny crevaces in molds (i.e. Antennae in butterfly molds, horns on unicorns)

Hi! Beautiful work. I keep buying resins and they all cure soft and flexible. Do you have a recommendation on an acrylic resin that cures hard? Like that coaster? Or am I doing something wrong?
@ResinBelle2 жыл бұрын
There are a number of reason resin may cure soft. Heat, cold, humidity, environment. Using too much alcohol or alcohol inks. Using pigments or inclusions that aren't compatible with the resin. Brand of resin, type of resin. Improper portions of both A and B parts. Improper mixing of both parts.

Could anyone help me with this issue? I used mod podge to seal images into a resin keychain for a friend months ago, and she just told me that randomly and suddenly (not gradually) the images in the resin are ruined and look black/grey, almost look like they’re fading into the black background color of the keychain. And this is months after its already been cured and she’s been using it. Anyone know what could’ve caused this? I know that if an image isnt sealed properly, then there would be seepage into the image almost right away while the resin is still wet. But i’ve never heard of seepage months later when the resin isnt even wet anymore? Please help!
@ResinBelle3 жыл бұрын
It's possible the images got too much sunlight and faded. Or if the image goes all the way to the edge of the resin some moisture could still seep through the edges since mod podge isn't waterproof. Could be the type of resin and/or a reaction between mod podge over time. Could be any number of things. Without knowing the exact way in Wich the item gets used there is no way to tell for sure. My best guess would be sunlight.

Instead of using all that glue could you not have put UV resin on it and put it under a UV light to harden and have a sheen?
@ResinBelle4 жыл бұрын
The issue is that resin of any kind tends to soak into paper unevenly often creating dark splotches that can ruin a piece. The glue is to seal the paper, protecting it from the resin. Then you add a top coat of resin to have a hard surface and seal everything in.
@sworley19564 жыл бұрын
