Here’s a parsnip recipe for you. I made parsnip rostis with poached egg today. Very nice. For each medium/large parsnip grated add 1 egg and 1 tbs flour. Mix shape into patties and shallow fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Top with an egg. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and thanks for sharing your wonderful Christmas with us. Looks like lots of fun and great food! I was just out in the garden seeing what survived our Dec deep freeze now that we are having a several day thaw. I picked spinach and some endive that did not freeze for salads. Also carrots, parsnips and radishes. Most of the lettuce was destroyed by the freeze but some arugula, frisee endive and winter density growing in a warmer bed still looks like it may have a future if it can get through Jan. It will be turrning very cold again for a while after New Years Day so we'll see what things look like next time I go out when we get our next thaw.

Couldn't help but notice the perry pears at the show - it's good they are keeping all the old varieties alive! If you haven't already you've got to give Tom Oliver's cider and perry a try. I'm sure you'd love it, it's the real deal!

We had a vegan Christmas Day with our extended family I took a home made Christmas pud. On boxing day we had turkey with veg from my allotment B-road beans. Red cabbage Carrots and 3 different potatoes. We had home made mincemeat and apple pies The apples were from my tree I put a defrosted pastry sheet over bun moulds and filled them and cut the pastry with a pizza slice makings 12 pies folded to edges in bingo 20 mins at 175 . I was ill over Christmas too, but it didn't spoil the day. We had a copy of your sprouts dish U did everyone loved it, will be doing that again. The sausage roll and the sausage meat thing U did at the start of the video looked amazing. Hope U had a fantastic Christmas, happy new year to U and your family.

You still have calabrese! Well done! Ours finished long ago. We need to get better at succession planting to have more fresh veg for coming months, only have sprouts, potatoes and parsnips left in the ground now.... Another interesting and fun video, thank you. Happy new year to both of you!
