Would love to hear more in-depth from Renaud, especially regarding right-hand technique, playing with minimal effort, and improvisation; he's been quite the role model for me ever since I picked up the upright. Thank you for these videos!

What do you think the purpose of the Karr exercise is? Avoiding accidental double stops? Or is it just his way of getting a good tone from the string?

String crossing exercises can really help you to play faster, more accurately and with a cleaner sound.

For me it's the bow stroke You make for a fast change from D to G and D to A.

That's a tough one as they are all quite expensive. The most popular makers are Thomastik, D'Addario, Pirastro, so I would search for those and see if you can find any deals online. Good luck with your bass playing.
