Thanks for giving me the confidence to open my own. Tip: You need to unsolder the old tabs from the board and solder the new battery tabs in.

Your tutorial certainly helped me, as my model seems to be like yours. I suspected that screw at bottom might be the key to open it, and thanks to you, verified it. I believe will be successful and all the best with appreciation from New Rochelle N.Y.

This was super helpful. I was able to replace the battery, I just needed to know how it came apart. Thanks!

I have the exact model/problem and thanks to your video and a new replacement battery off Amazon it's been working for over 2 months now. The soldering pins on my replacement battery were a bit short and hard to get both in place at the same time but I got it! Thanks again

Did you manage to fix it eventually ? thanks for your sharing.

Not the older one from two years ago but I did replace the batteries in the replacement. Please see kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJvNqppqp7uWpaM I'm glad I have that new soldering iron. It works great! Now I have a backup toothbrush when the new one bites the dust! Thanks for watching!

You put in the batter the wrong way. You can see a spark as you short the battery with your screwdriver at 6:29. This battery acts as just one large cell, they're connected in series. On the side you connected to the pins you can see a piece of metal connecting the two cells. You need to put the side that side away from the pins. If you can buy this battery online, you could in fact replace it, but likely will ruin whatever waterproofing its got.

Came here to say this. Good eye.
@oxwah3 жыл бұрын
Regarding the waterproofing, there is an o-ring inside the bottom cap as well as at the base of the brush shaft. As long as those are intact you should be good to go.

He put the battery pack in wrong, which is why it didn't work anymore. This is doable and it's not hard.

we've got a pair of HX6220s *without* the bottom screw 😞 anyone figure out a simple way to get it open? I absolutely can't stand products like this that are designed to be thrown away!

Why would you make a video about the process when you’ve never changed the battery before? I could stumble through the process myself.

He obviously doesn't know what he is doing because he should have looked on the pcb for the solder joints for the batteries

The answer is no. Your welcome 🤗

No, but actually yes. 11£ battery and two solder joints to salvage this brush is well worth it.

Its worth a try on an old brush youre not gonna use. Beats buying a new one for 60 eur a pop. every 2~ years. The battery is usually 10-20 eur and soldering kit not that much more. Anyone can do it with some trial and error.
