Personally having used both, I find the sonic brushes get between the spaces in your teeth far more effectively. The oscillating action of the oral-b misses the smaller gaps.

@nicklleees1571 If I can get my teeth cleaner without flossing I rather would though personally. The sonic brushes definitely offer a more effective clean for me.

The thing I don't like about oral B brush head is the gears inside builds up gunk and mold which is disgusting. You have to clean and replace frequently.

Thank you. Settling on one has been doing my head in today! I just got the SC 3100 in the UK so many thanks. Sadly I’m not expecting this one to be as good as the old Sonicare I have which has just died on me after 5 years but hopefully not too dissimilar.

Oral B IO has replaceable batteries, at least some of them. That is a HUGE difference. Also, as you said, it cleans better but is noisier. Also, there are 3rd party replacement heads now, so the head cost is about the same between all toothbrushes.
@jonfreeman96828 күн бұрын
I had a replaceable battery model and it leaked and inside rusts. If you get the ones with sealed battery they last a long time. Mine has lasted a decade though admittedly it doesn't hold a charge much anymore.
@justinkase13607 күн бұрын
@@jonfreeman9682 I purchased an IO unit, hopefully it lasts.

Sonicare brushes a little better but is less reliable than the Oral-B. It’s like comparing a BMW with a Lexus. A BMW performs better on the track and has a better interior but the Lexus just lasts forever and costs less to maintain.
@Oerger89Ай бұрын
Im a sufferer or gum recession and lately i've kept noticing that frontal top teeth keeps building up plaque just at the gumlines and the sonicare never managed to remove it unless i angled the bristles and jammed them in. According to my dentist's followups it was most probably made recession worse. Oral B had no issues what so ever.. Also there is some inevitable buildup on sonicare connection point that makes the toothbrush more noisy and become less vibrating..i dont have needled that are narrow enough to reach all the way. Just a headsup that sonicare might be a future hassle for you

Having used a "regular" Oral B and a Sonicare, Sonicare is what I preferred in the end for the more gentle brushing they offer compared to Oral B. Oral B feels very aggressive during the time I used it where the Cross action brush head irritated my gums during the first 5 or so uses. This is clearly not the case with Sonicare where both me and my gums enjoyed it much more and I basically have no complains for the brushing and cleaning sensation of a Sonicare toothbrush. But then Oral B releases the io and since I have never used one I need to ask out of curiosity : Is the Oral B io more gentle with brushing to the point that it will remind me the brushing of a Sonicare or the io is as aggressive in brushing like a "regular" Oral B is ?
@ElectricTeeth2 ай бұрын
It's less aggressive than a 'regular' Oral-B, but doesn't feel like a Sonicare. Based on what you say, I'd stick to Sonicare.

i suspect oral b has a better more agressive marketing because they seem to be the most recommended but end users appear to typically prefer philips. i would love to see a disclosure on this video. who is paying the piper?

Hey. Neither brand is paying the piper in this instance. This is one of the things that makes our channel unique. We've not received a single £/$ in money from the big brands to create our content. The most we have gotten is a sample of each brush, and the instances of this are low. We buy most of them ourselves. Here's links to our information pages that explain more. Oral B brushead has a slot or hole in it that lets in schmutz and gunk that coats the drive shaft and mold up as you brush over time.

This is the thing I don't like about oral B. The brush head has gears inside that builds up toothpaste and mold. So you have to rinse and replace the head frequently. I'm amazed mold can grow on toothpaste as it's supposed to be antibacterial. 🤯
