If a cavity that is forming is still only in the enamel, then it can be reversed. But, once it reaches the dentin, then it can’t grow back anymore.

Yes, you can 😁 I was given 5,000 fluoride toothpaste (Colgate Duraphat) to use before dental treatment. In the end I didn't need the filling as the cavity had remineralised with help from the prescription toothpaste.
