I wear Everlast Pivots for boxing and ground work training in the gym. They are a “Hybrid” boot which give great heel and arch support, and the sole is especially robust. Out of all the boxing boots I’ve had, these would be the ones I’d feel most comfortable running in. But I wouldn’t, there are a million different running shoes out there that were made for running. If you want to win a horse race 🐎 you don’t enter a donkey

I remember using Boxing shoes for working a security job I had for 1 day. The job required all black shoes and the only shoes I had that were all black were boxing shoes. It was a 12 hour shift and my feet felt destroyed after the shift was over I probably did almost 20,000 steps that day. Moral of the story use your boxing shoes for boxing only not anywhere else. Lmao.

Great video once again I just wanted to get your thoughts on what you think about MMA now changing the way that traditional boxing coaches are being forced for a lack of better word to teach their students since the stances are different which in turn changes the punch mechanics I had a "striking coach" who advertised boxing as one of their expertise but the way he held the pads was more MT orientated 3 punch combos all hard punches and very little evasion footwork besides slipping and the occasional shallow weave even where they position the pads are so different a little bit wider (forcing the puncher to give 100 percent with each punch) than my boxing coach and very rarely are throw away punches involved in the combos I was being taught I have since now found a strictly boxing coach and I have found it to be way better for my goals lots more side to side footwork during pads and 8 punch combinations pivots and inside fighting with set up movement included. His reasoning is lots of western guys with boxing backgrounds are training for MMA and transitioning to Muay Thai and MT guys are being out punched no surprise since MT is traditionally a kicking art so the MT guys are turning to boxing (going the opposite way) to increase hand speed not knowing that their square up stance is also affecting their ability to flick jabs or throw the short rear uppercut from a bent position and so forth. EVEN MY DOUBLE JAB has improved hugely being in a side on boxing stance compared to a squared mix hybrid stance from my previous trainer. I guess fusion comes at a cost.

Yeah it’s hard in mma because you’re dealing with multiple things at once, not just traditional boxing.

I tell people not to run with boxing boots because the bottom will get dirty. Little rocks and broken glass bits can get stuck and then come out on the ring floor. Also dirt makes them slippery. Your boxing boots will last significantly longer if you dont put a lot of miles on them.

Question. In consideration for those who are training their feet to transition into the more barefoot lifestyle, I know it takes time via getting used to walking barefoot, little by little increasing time and distance before you can start running barefoot. And barefoot shoes could assist in this somewhat. That being said, do you could boxing shoes be used in the place of the barefoot shoes in this endeavor?

good video, its a question that gets asked. I was taught that you needed different shoes for road work vs in the gym to help keep the canvas floor cleaner. I mean there is a good chance you will end up taking a quick nap on that canvas do you want all that road grime on your face?

I have a question about boxing boot soles: I've noticed boots usually come with one of two different kinds of soles; a flat, foam sole where you seem to stand ON top of the sole (ex. Boxhogs or the innovates you have here) and the harder rubber sole that sorta wraps around the heel and ball of the foot (like the machomais or hyperkos). I've only ever had the type with the flat soles. Is there a discernable difference between the two types?

Yes, the flat sole is typically a traditional style boot that offers good foundational feet where the style on Hyperkos is a little better for mobility and grip.

Here is a hack for those who love running in boxing/weightlifting boots to repair the bottom of the shoes use old tires and cut of the tyre tread and gorrilla glue them onto the bottom #onepairofshoesforlife

Technically you can run with any shoes, these are better suited because the sole is thicker and more supportive. I personally don’t because I have bad knees and lower back so need proper running shoes for road work
