Dougo, you brought back a memory from the mid 60's! Dad built one of the first confinement hog barn in SW Minnesota in 1962. The barn had 4 pens which held 50 pigs each. They figured that to save $$ that they would use wood slats in the 2 pens that held smaller pigs. Well when you confine hogs they chew on things. One Sunday morning we found approximately 2 pens of pigs swimming around in about 3' of liquid hog manure! It took us a few hours to pull them out and after several showers I still could not get the smell off of me. Oh and we didn't make it to church that day! Fond memories of growing up on a farm!!!

If you ever do the fan drive again put a rope around the intercooler pipe that is above where the drive goes and have someone pull on the rope to help lift it up into the tractor.

Those fan drives go out all the time . That's why we switched to case quadtracs and are never looking back . The only johndeere that I prefer is our 2018 9570rt we have had no Issues with it and it's sitting at 2200 hours . Great video keep up the good work!

@@mitchellunger9005 we greased ours frequently and they still are junk . I was a deere mechanic and I replaced them on brand new tractors and combines with less than 300 hours same with head gaskets and head bolts. Johndeere makes good combines but the tractors are not necessarily junk but very expensive cost of ownership wise . Buy a case and you'll find out fast what normal maintenance costs are . Johndeere is good and all I'd buy some of their equipment but even the parts are twice what case ih parts are .

@@anthonybanda8192 I know I’m a Deere mechanic currently. We know people grease them but they just don’t last. Jd says the bushings and seals have a 500hr life. I’ve put on a plenty in my life. Hell so many get replaced Deere is out of stock of the drives for 8r’s

@@mitchellunger9005 yeah deere has some reliability issues . Those fan drives have been bad for a few years now like 10 . Those 9rx are under powered overpriced junk compared to a case quadtrac. Now I have a 2018 johndeere 9570rt that is worth its weight in gold . I've worked for both case and deere in the past deere is superior in GPS systems where as case is superior in power and reliability plus are easier to maintain. Johndeere combines are OK but we switched to 2 gleaner s98s as they are better than deere and case in reliability and cost of ownership. That's just my thoughts from fixing and running both brands . I stopped working at dealerships because I can make more on my own plus I can still farm . Take care !

I did a fan drive on a 9560r of ours at 3k hours and that was after about a thousand hours after being rebuilt. I just about didn’t make it out of the field. It helps to dismount the fan to make room upfront.

I saw the pain in your eye's Dougo, when Chet said 2500$ for that part. Western truck and tractor works on a lot of the green AG stuff, and said they are getting bad at getting him parts, and that a lot of the green remanufactured parts, especially injectors and engine's are junk. He has a video where a remanned engine he put in fails, and then he has to swap it with another remanned engine. The emissions game they are playing isn't for the earth, it's to get you out of your car, and off your farm. There are a lot of farmer's selling land just for solar panel field's, and big business is buying up farmland, and many are foreign investor's. I am for all you guy's who keep farming with the price of everything going so high, and the crop damage y'all keep taking hits the wallet to. God bless.
