What hypocrisy by Madhu Trehan. On one hand she said it is wrong to retaliate after burning of Hindus even if your daughter is raped and then she said Muslims will produce osama bin ladens due to Gujarat. Then once she said it was not people of Guj but politicians and then said it was people on Gujarat. Even after SC verdict, she still feels Modi was responsible. She said Modi being great leader should have been able to stop riots and rather hang in public all those for Godhra train burning :) She was not in Guj and doesn't know spread violence that time. I was in Guj and it was media first which actually had provoked Hindus for past few years before then. If you take Gujarat Samachar (same newspaper and other which afterwards ran propaganda against Modi) was having one and another story on front page of Muslim goons harassing Hindus or abducting Hindu woman and it was lead story for few months. And then when Godhra happened ppl were extremely angry. Even in Hindu areas many shops were looted, burned just on rumor or information that owner of that shop or partner is Muslim. How can Police control such large scale violence? If you ask any person in Ahmedabad what are communally sensitive areas (ppl born before 2000 as now days riots dont happen much in Abad) they will say Dariapur, Kalupur etc. and not naroda patia or gulbarg society which might have seen riots for first time in 2002, so police in fact did good job that it was controlled in sensitive areas but as I said because people throughout even in Hindu areas did engage in violence you cannot stop all.
