Please edit your comment. Lord Krishna did everything possible to stop the war. But the Kauravas would not hear of it! They were the ones to start the Mahabharata. Lord Krishna only urged Arjuna to carry on with equanimity because right at the very moment of the great Battle Arjun still had second thoughts about killing his own relatives. It's possible that Sri Krishna was deeply aware how corrupted all the masters of Bharatavarsh had become. The War had become inevitable.

Mr.Gautier is correct when he says that indians are not proud of their history. it is the school system that is responsible for this. I had a christian catholic teacher from kerala and her history lessons were mainly to ridicule hindus . But we children did not complain to our parents, and this was happening in a hindu brahmin managed school. My younger sister went to a catholic school run by german and swiss nuns and they ridiculed us at every stage, both subtly and not so subtly. he is correct when he says that anti hindu forces like the DMK is encouraging conversion on a mass scale in Tamil Nadu, the christian reddy minister in Andhra distributes hindu temple lands to christian organizations saying that they are not used. The first stage is to bring back all the hindu temples in Tamil nadu and Andhra under the control of the hindu public, take them away from the state managed temples in a so called secular republic, where only hindu temples but not churches or mosques are managed by the govt.

@@ANURAG-em6ve the source of his piety and simplicity was also the source of temple destruction, jiziya etc. You see, Islamic scripture makes it incumbent on a practicing Muslim to destroy images and houses where false gods are worshipped. It is called iconoclasm. Also, it is an absolute duty to seek conversions of those following false gods to the one true path. The jiziya is a tax that basically gives a measure of security to non believers on payment. But even then there was lot of debate regarding status of hindus since they were not mentioned like jews and christians were. So the point is that we cannot divide aurangzeb into personally good and politically bad. There is no contradiction. What caused him to be frugal and simple is exactly what caused him to undertake his campaign of terror. And to answer your question, they weren't innocent in his eyes, they were unredeemingly sinful so they had to be eliminated

We need to take the Amar Chitra Katha books to our children and also ensure that Indian History is captured by them more comprehensively. I think one issue is Amar Chitra Kathas are seen as Comics. I live in Hyderabad and monsieur Gautier is totally right about missionaries and the conversion programmes in south India. In Telangana VHP has resisted it but in Andhra and Tamil Nadu it is being aggressively carried out. Having said that, what Gautier has said about the Delhi bubble is equally true of the metros here where the press are based. The same bubble basically exists in Hyderabad and other cities. In fact, just to give you a sense of disproportion, the English and even parts of Telugu media here believe saffronisation is going on, in a replica of Delhi media. So let's not single out Delhi. It seems to be a metropolitan problem in general

Our entire history lessons and syllabus in schools has Mughals all over it for most part. why is Ashoka or Mauryan empire only a chapter ? Maulana Azad was the person who was education minister and decided this.
