You dissin' mah wonderful Ruger 556's Mr. Hickok?! Bought my first some years back. Liked it so much, I bought a second. Then I bought one of their 'MPR' chambered in the same (Attached optic, happy to put holes in stuff out to 800!). All this, along with one of their 'Precision' platforms (6.5CM tyvm), and I could just go on. To say I'm a huge Ruger Patron would be an understatement, and I've yet to have any issues/disappointments with any of 'em. Of all the 'Mid-range' AR platforms out there, I choose Ruger for many reasons (Not a Salesperson for the Manufacturer, so people are gonna have to do their own due diligence!) For my needs and expectations, having three grants me a LOT of leeway, and should one suffer any catastrophic problem, well, then I've got a source or spare parts for the others! :-)

“Cheap AR’s” from reputable companies are not “cheap”. They are service rifles that are affordable and reliable like AR’s are supposed to be. No need for $2500 boutique cream whip fluff…You know, the ones nobody scratches or gets dirty…the ones protected and coddled like a purse poodle. 🙄
@Rubeless11 сағат бұрын
Those of us that run our weapons hard need cream whip fluff. You think this rifle would last five years and 20,000 rds?
@GLOCKCOPG238 сағат бұрын
@ Short answer, “yes” with normal wear and tear parts being replaced as needed like on any AR. Note that I did not say just any Frankenstein AR cobbled together with the most inexpensive catalog parts by the neighborhood gun mechanic. I said from “reputable companies”…Ruger, S&W, etc. Bolts and barrels are replaceable/expendable parts. That is going to happen at some point to any AR. A good 4150 barrel can last as little as 6000 rounds before needing replacement. That includes the cream whip fluff. Do it as needed. A decent trigger group, a good barrel, and a vetted bolt and you are good to go. Spend your money as you wish but “need and want” are very different.
