Well, My black ass is from Alabama so i understood every word 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️😂😂😂.. and when u live down south it just depends on how deep in the country you live or how close to the city live that'll determine on how thick your "Country-ness" will be that's all. Hopefully this made sense

I understood him fine. My only problem was his Darth Vader voice. His voice is so deep I could almost feel it in my bones 😂 And Dega County here. And that is straight facts. Some in Bham sound straight citified but you travel south an hour away and you can hear a deep twang clear as day.

Me too! I'm from Alabama originally but have moved around in the Army and later with my husband and family. We're in Maryland now. So to me I sound a little different but I have people at times say "Where are you from with that accent?" 😂😂😂 It still comes out no matter how much I think it changed.😂😂😂 I understood almost every word he said but had to listen closely to some of it.

I said the same thing. From Southeast, and I had family from small towns, and when I tell you I couldn't understand nothing, they said, and I grew up with them😂. When they smiled, I smiled, then I'd look to my mom for context clues😅.

Right, I understood every word, it ain't THAT damn strong. I think the cadence of his speech makes the difference. If his accent was thick as it is AND he talked at a lightning pace like Boomhauer, we might have a problem.

Agreed, I live in TN. I can remember when I first moved here and I couldn’t understand what people were saying. Now I don’t really notice southern accents unless it’s really thick. I’ve heard thicker accents than his.

I'm not from the south, but I could not only understand him, but FEEL him too. Some of the feelings he felt, as he was speaking, were particularly powerful because of the tonal shift. Folks talking negatively about this man need to ask why they can't empathize with this man on a soul level.

In the upstate we sound like both clips he did depending on who we’re talking to and how comfortable we are…the low low country, Charleston and surrounding areas is completely different they sound more like they’re from New Orleans
