Can You Use An Earth Auger on a BX23S?

Great info Chris. I don't know how well it would work up here in Petawawa. I had to use the backhoe on my BX to dig the holes. We have a crazy amount of nuggets under the ground here.

@@kdegraa Yes, the gravel that is mined here. Goes to Japan and Mexico. There are open pits all over Petawawa.

I'm in Australia and recently bought a PD10 post hole digger from Land Pride, I expected it to dig a posthole but it's only 2 foot long which leaves me having to dig the final 6 inches by hand, so now I'm faced with getting an extra 6 inches welded onto it as the 7" sleeve cost several hundred dollars which is insane.

Great practical demonstration. This should give a lot of folks wondering a better prospective. One thing to add and a key difference between the (typical) 3 point and loader is that you have the advantage of down pressure. Ask me how I know. Lol....Marlbank clay.

IS 6.2 GPM TOTAL flow or implement flow? How much of the 6.2 does the steering take?

6.2 is the total flow for the BX23S, steering takes away roughly 1gpm

So it won’t go through sod and the BX cannot pull it directly out of the ground without reversing the auger and leaving all the dirt in the hole

We didn't have sod for the Auger to go through, I can't see it having an issue with sod. Yes it would pull it directly out of the hole without reversing

There was a lot of sod around the gravel rectangle you demonstrated the auger. If it will just pull the auger up why not demonstrate that He reversed the auger every time to get it out of the hole. I own a BX23S, a L3560HSTC and a KX057-5. The BX is very capable, but like all of the equipment I own they have there limits and it is easy to find their limitations. I know that purpose is to sell equipment. But showing a machine do something that is very marginal does not impress me.
