I love the concept similarities to what might be employed with the false edge of a double-edged sword in HEMA to get around those parry or shield obstructions. Makes a lot of sense with a Hawk. Thanks for this, and I think you've sold me on this tomahawk design!

I would say that they could. I'm half native & we do have some movememts with the tomahawk that could be described as "karambit like". I was trained to use tomahawk with long "dag" (which can near short sword length sometimes) from childhood & as i've become famiar with SE Asian systems I can see some similarity.
