Can Yu'lon Replace Balinda in Fire Comp in PvE? (Hearthstone Mercenaries)

After the recent buffs, Yu'lon is one of the most talked-about Mercs. But how good is Yu'lon in the Fire comp? Can it replace Balinda? I took the Yu'lon Fire comp out for a spin in Heroic Shek'zara and have some footage to show you regarding its performance.

One nice little thing i noticed when using fire now to farm low level bounties for coins/tasks is die insect!, inferno and flame buffet are all the 2nd ability and don't need you to target anything so you can brainlessly click, click, click right above your middle merc's portrait to finish fights with way less mouse movement/time spent than using tony/balinda. It adds up when doing dozens of fights!

I really don't think that yulon makes any sense for pve, Belinda is way more efficient for her role and the freeze from the summon. Pve really isn't difficult and I think using yulon in a fire comp will just make the entire run take much longer than it should. Yulon seems like a great pvp choice at the moment 🤔

Have you tried arcane-frost for that? It's 3 untargetable 1st abilities.

Have you tried Brann? his second ability (with fire equipment) doubles ragnaros damage and sometimes baron too

Very interesting analysis. I would love to see a review of the new naga mercs and how they do in bounties and what are the best combos for them. 👍👍

I have not done all the Naga tasks yet, but as soon as I have them ready, I will test them.

@@OldGuardian Sounds good, I did try a full Naga Team on normal sunken city bounties, I mean, I got through them, even though slitherspear died all the time lol.

@@yeahjustme3680 yeah lol, I just did heroic Queen Azhara with a full naga comp and Lord Slitherspear died halfway through the climb, still managed to beat the boss, though

Cant' see Yulon replacing Balinda. Balinda's 3 speed ability is great for sniping targets, and the water elemental is crucial in heroic to make things easier. There's lots of battles when one or two turns of freezing one of the opponents means the difference between losing one of your mercenaries.

I usually take Alexstraza too in fire comp, all habilities are fire, it has a heal...good as extra option.

I don't have Balinda so I've been using Chi Ji as my replacement. I would say that Chi Ji is better than Yulon for a Balinda replacement.

Yu'lon with monstrous heart is basically unkillable now, so yeah if everything dies around you, he can still finish whatever bounty you started with him.

The analysis is insane. Yeah +15 hp doesn't seems as good as freeze + fast green merc

Don't forget that Balinda is green, which balances out the comp. If you don't have her, you can now use Yu'lon instead of Chi-Ji depending on the enemy, so I guess it's an option for "budget" teams (if you count Rag and Geddon as budget)... Also, I was ridiculously lucky with my packs: Geddon, Balinda, Malfurion, Tirion, Varok and Rexxar and I still have 118 packs to go. Not sure if I should open them, there are still some vanity mercs I would like (Yrel, Jaina, Uther, Sylvanas, Maiev). Also maybe Lich King for frost and Mukla for beasts? But what is the point when you can just burn everything with fire...

First of all you don't replace Belinda for Yulon. You replace Rag. Let's be real the only reason Rag is auto included is because of his +3 fire. But you don't need that. New comp is Belinda with freeze, Baron, and Yulon. Since yulon can start the fire combo requirements for Baron you can use Belinda S2 Frost ability instead, and thanks also to Yulon what you give up in +3 fire damage you make up with water elemental being able to survive to attack multiple times and you can get around taunt

Without rag it's not easy to clear levels in 1 turn. Rag, balinda, Baron geddon are way superior in that aspect.

I would include Rag even without the +3 fire. He sweeps the leftovers with a sinlge button click, for 25 hp and 50 for the greens too easily. How Yulon helps at that?. The only thing I don't like is how long the Die Insects animation take. Unless you don't mind playing extra turns of alley fights when you can sweep in one with Rag. I do priorize speed at cleaning alley fights. Yu'lon is very cool though

I almost forgot Yu'lon had Fire abilities, I thought her abilities were Nature for some reason. The Jadefire Buffet makes her really powerful.

Honestly don't know why jadeflame buffet is a fire ability in the first place. Guess it's to nerf nature synergies. Most players should get Balinda while unlocking other mercenaries. Completing normal and heroic bounties in Alterac Valley once provides more than 100 Balinda coins already. Unlocking equipment for other mercenaries should bring it closer to 200. Balinda could be considered a budget mercenary.
