In 2004, we moved back to Canada from Wales, UK. I hadn't been there for 8 years, so there were at least 10 shocking things about moving to Canada for me!!

My favorite part of this video is finding out you skated to and from work! And your daughter singing at the end! And, ok, everything - everything was my favorite part of this video😄 Loved all the clips you included!🇨🇦

Thanks so much guys! My favorite part of work was the skating as well 😂 glad you got to see a bit more of family clips. Definitely fun to put together 🥰🙏🌹🇨🇦🏴

How come there aren't really basements in the U.K? Yes, the old school clips!!!! What amazing family memories! Thanks for sharing classic clips of Karen!!! You know you are in Canada when you skate to work. I saw another KZbin explaining that. How I met Your Mother was one of my favorite shows for ever!!!! Do you have a go to place for all your clips? Or just a regular search?
@RenLuuk3 жыл бұрын
Love your comments for me!! I just search KZbin for clips. Yeah, takes a while. I also have things in mind - like how I met your mother. And of course, Schitt’s Creek. The hardest part for this one, though, was finding the home movie clips. Hours and hours. But hey, such is the life of a highly successful KZbinr 😂

This was very interesting to me. I have never been to Canada so I learned a lot from you. We had the same kind of newspaper machines until just a couple of years ago.

Thanks Patti! And here I thought they were uniquely Canadian newspaper stands. The ones I saw in the states just dispensed one at a time. Thanks so much for watching 😂🙏🌹🇨🇦🏴

We can't wait to visit Canada as a family! The TV clip/movie clips are my favorite. You really put a lot of thought and research on these clips. I usually add 1 or 2, so when I see it through the video, I'm like this had to take forever. I really have to try Tim Horton's when we go there.

I heard Canada is quite expensive but didn’t know if it was certain things or everything. I would love to go at some point but given the extremes of weather and the size of the country, it will take some thought. So much to see and do. Skating to work?!?! Brilliant. Another great video and I loved the editing. Funny, informative and touching. I hope you are well.

Thanks so much, Chris. I always look forward to hearing what you have to say. (just in case you wondered!) You are such a proper film maker, anything you say is greatly appreciated. Hoping to see some film from your end soon?? (hint, hint) Hope you and your family are doing well x

I know. I need to pull my finger out but had a good excuse this weekend. We are all well thank you. Hopefully I will get a video out this weekend just to get back into it. Has been the longest break on my channel so far.
@RenLuuk3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Remember that apart from people like me (and Violet) people barely notice 😂 And I am a big believer in taking breaks - or as I like to think of it, doing it when the mood strikes you. Only you notice the time passing. It’s good for the mind to sit back and reflect for a bit. I find that because I am a complete amateur, if I don’t film or edit, I forget things. Especially camera stuff. Luckily I have Violet by my side to tell me the same things over and over. Looking forward to whatever you make - whenever you make it. No pressure. Just fun 🥰🙏🌹🏴

"Mayonnaise on Everything" 😂 I remember visiting Canada on a school trip and it was the best time. Canadians were really welcoming to us kids from Puerto Rico. We were also amazed at the underground pedway in Toronto because winters were so cold. I wish we had underground pedways for when it gets too hot down in PR. I do have very fond memories of my trip and wish to visit again soon.

They also have rare breeds there - you learn so much. Loads of museums - History, Space, National Art Gallery, Scient - all FREE!!! Lots of walking and cycling pathways, and the Market. Gatineau Park, loads of lakes ... the list is endless. So glad you enjoyed it x

That is all so true! One advantage of being in Ottawa was being so close to New Hampshire - the tax free state. Alcohol was so so cheap. It is extremely good over here in the UK as well. In fact, so cheap they have had to trial minimum prices for alcohol. Hope you are doing well 🥰🙏🌹🏴
