It will be a tragic lifetime setback for students who are already there and for the families. Parents have somehow managed to send their children by putting in their lifetime earnings. One can understand they implement it from a coming intake that the students are very clear that they are there for a higher education.

Very good move by IRCC if it is to be implemented . Atleast , they can get rid of useless candidates especially from Punjab / Gujrat who have screwed up Canada by pursuing shady programs from diploma mill colleges . They are gonna have a tough time . Well done IRCC

The whole problem is with the students paying hefty amounts for those useless courses despite those courses having no relevance in the canadian job market and yet ranting in the name of protest for pr . Rather than opting for these diploma mills , your Punjabi Pajeeths could try applying for masters courses in universities if they are talented enough 🤟🏼

What about students who graduated recently have got their transcripts and graduation letter and are waiting to apply or PGWP a bit late within the 90 day window, so they aren't on any status but have a valid study permit. If this was to be announced this July, could this affect those students?

@@Yoyo12586 I get that, I am not working at the moment, just sorting out some data/detail change issues with my documents, I still have time within the 90 day window till I figure out my document changes. I was instead wondering was, could this policy change be a problem in a case where I have graduated have all documents but haven't applied for a PGWP yet. Considering if it does trace back to students already in Canada. In the video they said current or future student, which I won't be as I have graduated but just haven't applied for my wp. Or is this just a technicality.

This is the same question that I wanted to ask. When is this rule gonna come into effect. The students who have already graduated and just applied for work permit and are expecting for a 3 yr work permit. Are there any chances that they might get just 1 yr work permit? This is a big question.

in short: 1. Canada plans changes to the Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) to tackle labour shortage. 2. From Sept 1 2024, students in private colleges will no longer automatically qualify for PGWP and for private universities it depends on ur course that u have taken. 3. From September 1, 2024, international students starting a study programme under a curriculum licencing arrangement will no longer be eligible for a PGWP. 4. The permit's duration ranges from eight months to three years, depending on the length of the student’s study programme. 5. Make sure your passport is valid for the entire length of time you should be eligible for pgwp.

Very recently we are hearing that PGWP rules will be again going to change to be applicable to all post graduate students except a few degrees that are in high demand in Canada like IT, Health care and construction. I have enrolled in the 1 years masters program in organisational management at Crandall university, Moncton New Brunswick for upcoming January 2025 intake and I have already been approved with my study permit as well as visa. I have already paid a partial tuition fee too at the university to secure my admission. Now I am really worried whether I will also be impacted by the new rules that IRCC is going to declare soon for the international graduate students regarding PGWP. In fact earlier my intention was after doing even 1 years masters I am going to get a 3 years work permit that will lead me to be eligible for PR.
