Canada is a sovereign country AND a member of the British Commonwealth, which also includes New Zealand and Australia - to mention a few. To keep this simple, any real threat to Canada’s sovereignty is a threat to the British Commonwealth. Although I don’t believe for a minute anything that Trump says, others do. It’s not even feasible to even think of this. First of all Canada is a founding member of NATO and the response would be NATO troops flying to Canada to secure our Nuclear sites and reinforce Canada’s military. The Armed Forces of the UK would back us without hesitation, as well as the G7 and G20 nations ceasing trade with the US as well as basically isolating America from the international stage. It would be the end of US influence and would give China a reason to be diplomatic and offer support to make the US seem like the Bad Guys. BTW…Canada is a NATO member. The only time article 5 was invoked was to come to the aid of the USA and for which Canada played a significant role. The NATO Alliance consists of 30 member states from North America and Europe. Article Five of the treaty states that if an armed attack occurs against one of the member states, it should be considered an attack against all members, and other members shall assist the attacked member, with armed forces if necessary.

I pay $728 in rent and I live in crescent heights, I can call my dr. in the morning and have an appointment the same day, yes sometimes we have to wait for specialist appointments but it’s still better than in the states. I challenge you to find better rent and better free healthcare anywhere else, if you think your taxes are too high, they are still better than in other countries that offer similar services as Canada does. I have no problems getting into see my doctor immediately (the same day). My grandchildren go to school and I don’t worry about a mass shooting at their school. They don’t have to go through metal detectors when they go to school. Groceries are high, but guess what? They are high everywhere. It’s the residual from the pandemic, inflation was worldwide, not just in Canada and the U.S., and in fact our countries weathered the worldwide inflation far better than a lot of European countries. I don’t stand with Trump nor the Maga crowd, but if you think he and they are so great, then you should move to one of the red states. And also, if you think that a billionaire like president elect Elon Musk and VP elect Donald Trump are going to care about your groceries, then you are in for a rude awakening. They don’t spend one second thinking of you and your grocery bill and VP elect Donald Trump has admitted that the price of groceries won’t come down, because it’s hard to bring down the price of something.
