Let is all appreciate that Kadhim Alsahir is not only the singer but he also is the composer of this great music. He studied music in Baghdad Academy of Music. Hasan Almarwany is the author who wrote the ultimate word for heartbreak is a genius who taught us all that losing love is as painful as death when the love is genuine. What hurts even more is that he wrote these excruciatingly painful words to the girl he loved but she left him to marry another richer man. How elegant was he is portraying his disappointment without the slightest disrespect for her. He called her “your majesty”in this poem. I could never even imagine what he must’ve felt to lose her. Kadhim Alsahir being the genius he is didn’t hesitate to sing this song despite of how hard it is and how likely it is for the audience to think it is too much or the possibility of not even understanding it. But he is called The Cesar because of his love to challenge even the most complicated words and turn them to songs which you don’t even need to understand the words of in order to fall in love with and admire their beauty. I don’t want to sound redundant but as a Kurd who speaks a fluent Arabic as well. I truly can not admire the beauty of the language enough. I speak almost 4 languages and none of them captures feelings and emotions as Arabic. Nothing is as expressive as the lyrics of this song. It is a timeless masterpiece. And FYI absolutely no other singer dares to sing it as it requires a very special vocal capacity and lots and lots of training, let alone of practicing to pronounce the Arabic words as beautiful as Kadhim did here and last but not least The EMOTIONS. This man puts his heart in his music and his heart carries all the pain, lost, heartbreak, and sadness of Iraq his home.
