“They’re lining up for the experience of going home...” This is very apt. I got teary-eyed when you said that. I practically ignored Jollibee when I was living in the Philippines. But if for some miracle someone puts up a franchise in my part of the world, you bet I’d be lining up in freezing temperature for another taste of my childhood.

The reason why Filipinos lined up for Jolibee even though it was freezing cold because Jolibee is the symbol of Philippines like going home to the Philippines. They get homesick, they miss their life in Philippines. When they see Jolibee its like they are back home. Filipinos have beautiful memories of eating in Jolibee that’s the reason why they lined up early in the morning.

My father took us (mom + 4 kids) on many long road trips (2+ weeks at a time) all over the back country in our big white station wagon. That was back when Isla Mujeres had one "motel" - a small collection of thatched huts WITHOUT walls but WITH the wonderful hammocks of Yucatan. My sibs and I will ALWAYS have Mexico in our blood. An amazing country with amazing people. I am so happy you like living there. It's what got me to your channel. Thank you.

Well, yes, maybe it's not the easiest time to go to Venezuela, but it is a beautiful country. Los llanos and th Gran Sabana are really beautiful places. Also The Andes can be very impressive and weird, because they are tropical high mountains, and that gives a very weird and beautiful landscape, almost like something out of some star wars planet. And of course they have a part of the Caribean sea, which is always beautiful.

I'm Mexican and live in Texas. There are a lot of places that claim to be "authentic Mexican," but no way they taste anything like real Mexican food. They have the names right, and sometimes look like the real thing, but the taste cannot be compared to real Mexican food! And some places say "spicy salsa" hahaha 😂 let me tell you something, tomatoes are not spicy, and lemons are not spicy either!!! You guys are funny 😂😂😂 you have to put chili in the salsa without taking the center out. The center is the spicy part of the chili! It's like eating the orange peel and throwing the rest away! It doesn't make sense, right!!!

Pro tip. It is much cheaper if you order 2x 1pc chicken meal rather than ordering 2 pcs chicken meal, you get an extra rice & extra drink for almost the same price. I dont know on other countries, works well here in The Philippines. You're welcome :)

The gravy was actually for the chicken and/or mashed potatoes. Most of us, Filipinos actually dip the chicken in the gravy... idk why but that’s how we do it. Btw, I’m glad that you tried Jollibee and I was hoping that you could travel the Philippines and see our culture there. I actually miss Philippines, my home and It would be nice if I could watch more videos of you trying Filipino fast foods or Filipino restaurants and maybe watching you having a trip to the Philippines.

The New Travel Thats why Filipino lined up in Jollibee because everybody has their ow stories when theyre growing up eating in Jollibee with their families and friends since childhood years. Theres a lot of fastfood out there but theres a taste in Jollibee that reminds us that this is the taste of Filipino that we would like. I even have my story how my dad brought us in Jollibee and theres no too many yet restaurant of them. Our car broke up like that etc etc
@pr3ttyb0yfl4cko6 жыл бұрын
Your last statement, the one wherein you explain why Filipinos line up for the food in Jollibee because they want to take a taste of home is so true. Fast food will always be fast food, but those fast foods in Jollibee? Damn that ain't ordinary fast food, that's home for Filipinos. A little part of the Philippines brought to Canada. You earn my like from what you've said.

Jollibee originated from home cooking that started at a small eatery. Known for it's sweet style spaghetti which is a huge hit for kids. The chicken is seasoned to emphasize the smell while the spicy ones are made to be tolerable even kids. KFC got secret spices and unlimited gravy that cause kidney stones. McDonalds got cheap and convenient meals that cause cancer. Jollibee got that sweet taste that leaves you with high blood sugar.
@TravelCh3f6 жыл бұрын
Jollibee chicken comes with steamed rice here in the Philippines. The gravy is supposed to be the dip for the chicken. Though it's okay when you used it for the mashed potato.
