At 10:41 you posed the question about getting paid in “Loonies and Toonies”. Just for those who are not Canadians, the “Loonie” is our one dollar coin which has Queen Elizabeth’s head on one side and a loon on the back face. The “Toonie” is just what we call the two dollar coin, just a contraction of two loonies. The tips a waitress would receive would be mostly these coins.

1) there's an article a while back of a guy who had his SUV stolen too many times. He decided to buy an air tag and store it in his car. When his SUV get stolen once again he show the police where his car is, which was in train yard ready to be shipped out.. the police said they can't do anything because they don't have a warrent. The insurance company offer to pay him out each out but seriously the real loss here is that his insurance rate goes up while people are stealing cars to be shipped off via the St.Lawrence and be sold off to the middle east. 2) Toronto Police were heavily critized when, during an interview, the officer suggested to the people of Toronto that they should leave their keys outside so the thieves can steal them instead of having them invade their house for the car keys.

Stolen cars out of Canada often go to Mexico as well, and then go to the US as “salvage titles” which end up becoming unregistered track cars. If you ever wonder where people get nicer sport and performance cars that they take to tracks to race, they come from Canada via Mexico. It’s guaranteed they all have punched out VIN plates in the windshield and door stickers ripped out. Depending on how thorough the chop shop handled the VIN sterilization

My city had a population of less than 20,000 pre-covid, because of Justin's politics we now have ~34,000 people here (all new people being foreigners) and it has crippled this place, not a single student can get part time jobs now, pricing of houses went from 350,000 for a decent home in city limits to ~600,000. The grocery stores have doubled their prices and are almost always out of stock. What that PoS did to our country is unforgivable.

Here's what you need to understand. People in your country love to use Canada as some kind of monolithic bargaining chip, if that makes any sense. Our country has been strongly Liberal for the past 10 years, and folks love to compare your country's problems to our country's strengths to try and prove the validity of whatever narrative they want to push. The problem is, is those "strengths" just don't exist and y'all are being lied to: our country is doing so poorly, with a skyrocketing cost of living that's putting people on the streets, failing inadequate healthcare, food and medicine and fuel being unaffordable, a housing crisis where even a small one bedroom apartment can bankrupt you, and a collapsing economy, with all of that being 100% the fault of our Liberal government, that it would actually be better to use us as an example of why your country should vote Republican. I won't tell anyone how to vote or think, and I certainly won't accuse anyone who votes Liberal this year of being a traitor or an extremist (a gratuity, I might add, they won't give in return), but anyone who thinks voting Liberal is a good idea after what they've done to our country is grossly ignorant and misinformed.

I just checked the place I used to rent in Vancouver, 10 years ago I was paying C$2k a month, today that same place goes for C$6k a month... I very much doubt wages doubled during this time. Back then, the company that hired me had to spend a lot on administrative and other fees, plus pay me a higher wage to justify the hire(because I'm a foreigner). Now, while the initial fee is higher, the overall cost is much lower, and there are even government incentives that completely eliminate the extra cost of hiring foreigners, which I'm sure doesn't help your wages.

We live near a homeless encampment, though it's mostly moved to another part of town. And I moved 15 hours away to escape worst-case Ontario. I moved to NB so I can actually afford a home and escape crime, the cost of my mortgage is what I would have paid in rent If I could even find a decent apartment, and I'm lucky I even got it, it's a fixer upper, so I luckily got it. And for car thefts and break ins, my car was broken into 2 weeks ago. There was a shooting murder a month before I moved. 30 mins ago I read an article that around the corner from my GF's old house was a shooting where a guy was murdered on New Years. The thefts at my GFs work is crazy. A knife was pulled 2 not hs ago. Now Immigrants are burning our flag in the streets of Toronto. And Palestinians are protesting in droves in every city. Even the city I'm in now. Our country has gone to complete shit.

When the next PM vote comes up even if I lose my leg that week I will drag myself to the local school/church to vote for this man. Everything under Trudeau has gone to complete shit up here. Families have all had to move back in with each other under one roof because its the only thing affordable. A cousin of mine recently had to move back in with his elderly parents for the 1st time in 20 years because he just couldnt make it work anymore making 16 bucks an hour. In Canada migrants can get payed more than the average full time worker just by simply migrating here. It's being taken advantage of rampantly. The government is literally giving our money away so that people who haven't worked in Canada at all can live comfortably. That isn't the biggest problem by far though. Half of the governments deficit has been spent on liberal government contractors who get payed hundreds of dollars an hour for essentially nothing (DEI).

10:17 to rent a 1 bedroom apartment is between $1200-$1900 per month. Unless you have a skill most of the jobs you can get start you off at minimum wage, $15 per hour. Companies don't want to give you full time, they would have to give you benefits. So you get 24-32 hours per week after taxes you make $1250 - $1670 per month. Mortgage rates went up as well at in the last 7 years from 2.7% to 8.1% June 2022 so if you had to get a new mortgage on your house at $300000 it would have gone from a monthly payment of $1,616.88 to $2,503.09 that does not include the property taxes. So even if you had a decent job that is an extra $886.21 per month.

Left and right spectrum isn't very technical when you really get into it. Typically, far left people are really into socialism and the government running every industry, so logically far right would mean someone who's really capitalism and free markets, which would describe Pierre.

Fun fact: In 2015, the last year of Harper's administration, Canada posted a $1.9 billion dollar surplus and our debt-to-GDP ratio stood at 31%. In Trudeau's last year, the government posted a $62 billion dollar deficit with a debt-to-GDP ratio that is roughly 107%. I want to do a graduate degree but can't afford to sign a new rental agreement so my options are limited to remote programs. One bedrooms are $2,000 a month in some cities which is far more than I pay now and can't afford. This affects the labour market too and will continue to cripple our economy. We are cooked.

I’m gonna give you a reason no one else has said yet. Why and how did Trudeau win and become Prime Minister. I was born and raised in Canada. Fast forward to when I was studying in college 2014, I remember two big reasons that I heard over and over again. Many colleagues and students were always saying they’re voting for Trudeau because he’s legalizing weed but not to my surprise, because I heard it way too much, girls would vote for him because “he’s hot”. Having friends from every college and university in my city, I would go to various campuses to hang out with my friends, and those two reasons, legalizing weed and him being handsome were always heard. Everywhere. And when you wrap your head around the fact the majority of Canadians who are/were voting are young adults, it makes sense why he won. When I was younger in 2014, young adults including myself, we didn’t care what the politicians were talking about. We just voted because we’d hear others say they are voting for him and think, that’s good enough for me. Now, 10+ years later… I’m wiser. Because this country I call home, has become a landfill. I say landfill because I feel, as a citizen who works hard and makes money, it is never enough and I start to sense I’m a failure because I’m struggling to make ends meet. And I know most Canadians feel the same way. That’s why I call it a landfill. Because most of us feel like trash. I have friends who feel lost and talk about suicide. **side note: this is my perspective. What I’ve heard, seen and lived through. To others, it may very.** *Also… when I say Canada feels like a landfill, it’s just me trying to say how most of us feel when it comes to paying bills, work-life balance, etc… and I know it can improve. At my work, I talk to so many people and they all feel the same way and openly tell me their situations.* I know one day, post 2025, it won’t feel much like a landfill. But rather, it feel like freedom. With room to breathe. With time to relax, settle and not be afraid and overly stressed. I just hope that whoever is our next Prime Minister, can save Canada.

The thing is, Canada is keeping its ''numbers look good for its GDP'' with a crazy amount of immigration but the wealth per capita is getting worse and a lot worse. They keep increasing the immigration but the country can't keep up, there isn't enough houses being built, there isn't enough good jobs available, crime keep climbing etc. This nonsense has to stop. As a Canadian, let me try to simplify the political situation. Pierre is NOT the new prime minister of Canada. Trudeau is STILL THE PM. He has shutdown parliament until the end of March so that his political party can find a replacement leader. That new leader will become the PM. From that point on, if said new PM triggers an election either in March, or in their forced deadline of October, only THEN will PP have the chance to be voted in as PM. Nothing has changed, it’s all theatrics
