Canada's Ukrainian City! (Dauphin, Manitoba might surprise you) 🇺🇦 🇨🇦

Nestled in the heart of western Manitoba, the city of Dauphin is home to heaps of Ukrainian heritage. Throughout the city, visitors are treated to views of its many onion-domed orthodox churches, along with historic forts, a trendy downtown core, and some of the best Ukrainian food in Manitoba.
From Dauphin, I travelled north to the small town of Swan River, where I spent the night. There wasn't a whole lot to do there, but I did enjoy visiting its own Ukrainian orthodox cathedral as well as the roadside swan (yes, you read that right).

I live in Manitoba and have traveled all over the province. And Dauphin has been one of my most favorite cities in Manitoba ever since.

My family is from Dauphin, and we still have a cabin 11 miles from Dauphin. The second church you visited is rarely open, but they use it sometimes. It has the most beautiful acoustics! My GreatGrandpa had mechanic shop on 1st ave north until the mid 80s. I come back every summer. One of the best restaurants is Corrinas on Memorial, get their ukrainian platter - delicious! Glad you tried it! Also, check out the Western Bakery on 2nd ave N. Very good pastries!

It is only about 4 hours from Winnipeg.

I’m born and raised in Winnipeg. I’m not Ukrainian but my friends and everyday life had some Ukrainian aspects to it. Little did I know it was preparing me to meet the love of my life when I moved to Toronto! I met my man in Toronto he came at age 10, in 2005. I can’t wait to Take him Back Home To Manitoba

It's like a hub town for Riding Mountain National Park like Onanole in the south and like how Canmore is to Banff National Park and Hinton is to Jasper National Park.
