I applied via non-SDS this month and I got approved the very same day I got my biometrics done! I will be pursuing my masters from UOttawa. I did the entire study permit application myself and made sure it’s a strong application with no unanswered questions or red flags. Don’t listen to agents you guys, do your applications yourself, put in the time and effort and submit a nice, strong application via non SDS, you will get the visa super quick!

Okay So I applied via SDS and I just got my visa confirmation today. It only took them 9 days so I feel like it just varies from person to person. SIde note for Tahseer- I was very scared of going into this without the help of an agency and this channel made everything so so easy for me. The whole application process was intimidating as heck and I really appreciate you spoon feeding each minute info in a simple way for my dumbass. You should be very proud of yourself and I wish you the very best for everything.

Thanks for the kind words. You shouldn't list your paid fee under "available funds for your stay" section. Instead, put your funds that you have set aside for living expenses. If you've done a GIC, put that amount only.

Hi Abdur Rahman. IRCC has requested me to provide my original Letter of Acceptance even when I had uploaded the exact LOA I received from the university. I read online that my LOA should contain first year's tution fee mentioned on it, but the LOA given to me by my university doesn't have it. Could you please suggest what I can do about it. But one problem is that i got Overall 6.5 in IELTS AC but in one reading module i got 5.5. I have strong financial background my both parents are in to business. For SDS, IRCC accepts IELTS Academic, IELTS General, CELPIP General, CAEL, PTE Academic, and TOEFL IBT. I have not heard of IRCC accepting TOEFL for non-SDS.

Hi Bro , I applied via non sds category for study permit for the University of British Columbia. I have already paid GIC but my university doesn’t accept advance fees payments so that was the only reason I applied via non-sds. Now , I have got a notification from IRCC that please provide us with a proof of fees paid . However I have already mentioned that we cannot pay that in my SOP . How to revert them . Hi @kumarcreations7136, If you’re planning to apply through the SDS visa program before the 10th of Aug 2023, you’re required to achieve a minimum IELTS 6.0. band score in each skill, for both the IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training tests. From the 10th of August 2023 onwards, you will be able to apply for the SDS visa with IELTS Academic with an overall band score of 6.0. This means you will no longer need a minimum band score of 6.0 for each section.

Practically no. They don't mention it as a necessity, but I've seen that they often reject study visa applications that don't have a ELP test score attached. So, it's better to take an ELP test.
