I think for those working full time or part time the UK has good Annual leave with pay as compare to Canada .In addition, the UK accommodate those with certain health condition you don’t have to pay for your Medication. It doesn’t matter if you are a citizen or not, however this doesn’t happen in Canada as far I can remember.

Mind you we relocate only for our comfort nobody would have migrated if they find comfort in their country .getting what you aimed for is the key. Go wherever you find your comfort and make there a better for yourself. Peace ✌🏻

Well, Chi Chi, some of the benefits of being a citizen in any country, in this case, the USA and Canada include: 1) as a citizen you can vote and you can also get employment both with the Federal Government, and the provincial government where you live in. Also, if you travel from Toronto to Manitoba, or anywhere, you are employable by any Federal establishment. 2) as a Permanent Resident, you cannot be employed by a Federal Agency or the Federal Government, and you do not have a voting power or right. You can get a job with companies, but not with any government, even in Manitoba, where chi chi lives. The Provincial Government would not employ a PR. 3) These rules also apply to non-citizens in the USA. 4) You have to be a citizen of a country to be employed by the Federal Government of that country.
@AnnRobertsOE Жыл бұрын
This information is not completely correct. In Canada, as a PR, you can be employed by the Federal or Provincial Govt but there may be some roles that are strictly for citizens but not all roles

People generally do not move to Canada for a better job or more money. It’s all about the lifestyle change. I know Aussie citizens and the working conditions are generally better in Australia than in Canada. The pay is a third higher and the healthcare system is better in Australia. They went to Canada because they wanted the lifestyle and environment that Canada has to offer, things they could not find in Australia or the UK they have citizenship. The cost of living in Australia is expensive - more expensive that some places in Ontario. Don’t think for a minute that it’s all about finances because it isn’t at all! If it is all about money, you are better off in the UK. Comparing the UK to Canada when it comes to shopping for groceries, nearly every service-related thing costs more in Canada for poorer quality. Canada could seem perennially 10-15 years behind the curve when compared to the UK in that regard. I think it depends on where you live in each country. UK has become more expensive since Brexit. For someone in a developing country moving to Canada could be more advantageous as you can move as a PR and will need just 3 years to apply for citizenship. You also do not to pay high fees to maintain your residence permit as you would in the UK. In the end, it depends on what you want, why you are moving and what makes you happy.

But might retire in Canada..i left cos I just don't wanna live a boring life in my youth...na fine Canada fine pass uk..nothing else..if you are highly skilled, like tech, apply for global talent visa in the UK and gt your ILR in no time. Give or take, Canada is favourable for poor/lazy people and people from third world country..in Uk, you start to pay bills the day u land😂😂 and everything is low..only highly skilled jobs pay higher salaries in Uk...for the average man, you save more in Canada too. Nice insights, I think both have alot of similarities. The only time UK is better than Canada is ease of entry. Once you enter Canada is alot better. And here are the reasons. 1. In Canada once you come in, irrespective of how you came in, you are 99.999% sure that your stay in the country will be permanent some day. You cant give that assurance in the UK. 2. The Average time from temporarily residency to permanent residency in Canada is 3 years. In the UK it is 10 years for most people. And you become a citizen in Canada 2-3 years after the PR depending on how you came in. 3. University Education in Canada is slightly cheaper compared to the UK. 4. In Canada you can bring your dependents in when you are on the post graduate work permit, you cant do that in the UK. It is either you bring them in when you are on your study permit or get a job with sponsorship after your studies. 5. If you lose your status for any reason in Canada, there are several options you can explore to stay back in the country legally and restore your status or even get permanent residency. Most of the people I know that experience lost of status in the UK either because their school cancel their admission, lost their sponsorship or for any reason atall had to leave the country and then try to re-enter if possible.

Correction, every child in UK gets child benefit as long as your stay does not say 'no recourse to public fund', if you have ILR or British passport (citizen), your child gets child benefit. 2. Not every one is entitled to child tax credits, this is based on household income and your marital status and your situation. Single parents get child tax credit. Married couples are not entitled to child tax credit, your household income will determine that.
