I'd love to migrate to Canada but my research tells me that it is too expensive. I am a senior and healthcare is also a concern. There a lot of "rankings" that show the US is more expensive in most categories than Canada, but housing appears to be a lot more expensive, especially purchasing a home. I am looking to leave the USA as I just cannot accept what is happening in our country: politics, mass shootings, healthcare, abortion rights, cost of living, etc. This is the lowest point of quality of life that I have ever experienced and just not my country anymore. Having lived in Spain, familiar with the Spanish language, I am leaning toward a Spanish speaking country. Great video, and have a lot of respect for Canada which led me to your video. Good information.

Thank you for outlining some of the fastest and easiest ways to immigrate to Canada, it really helped me understand Canada's immigration priorities and how to make myself a better candidate!

Thank you for confirming my way in. I'm a marine mechanic. When I passed through BC I saw an incredible amount of broken down machinery.

I was born in Canada. My mom is a US citizen. She brought me to the states when I was a baby and was told that I was an American. I lived my entire life as an American until I went to the Social Security office and learned that I was an undocumented alien! Five years later, I finally got legalized in the US. Now I want to move to Canada.😅 There are practical reasons to stay in the US. My friends and family are here. I’m retired in a nice small town…. I still plan to get Canadian documents even if I never need them.

I want my wife and daughters out of this hateful country, but I'm also worried that once Putin and Trump cement alliances Canada will be their first target. Deal with your fascists now, because they are licking their chops over this possibility, I promise you.😒

If you have a Canadian birth certificate, you might want to get that Canadian passport ASAP.

If your mom is a U.S citizen when u was born in Canada. You might hold dual citizenship. Your mom could file birth abroad for you and you can be both u.s citizen and Canadian citizen. 😅

What about American retirees?

It is harder if you are older but I did transfer my teaching credential to a province there. Crossing my fingers but they prefer younger immigrants.

@@fremontpathfinder8463 yea I've seen that. Fingers crossed for you!

@@PattisArtInnaVan Canada does not want American retires. The health care is already at its max. Retirees just put more of a strain on their health care system.

Are Americans elligible for IEC working holiday? I've seen some sites that say that's the case, but the Canadian immigration site says that USA isn't a part of IEC agreement and not elligible?

I successfully transferred my teaching credential to British Columbia last June but I am older so I still might not be able to move there permanently. I might be able to live at the tip of WA and substitute teach there.

If you were born earlier than 1970, you can’t even apply to move to Canada.

Why?
@francescathomas35022 ай бұрын
because anyone older than 55 is getting close to retirement and Canada really does not need or want any more retireees.
@francescathomas35022 ай бұрын
There is one exception - and that is if you have children, adult sons and daughters who are already in Canada legally, who are working and who can sponsor you and PAY FOR ALL your healthcare needs (Because you will not be able to use the health care system for at least 10 years) then maybe you can move to Canada. So your children can be your sponsors and support you. You can still get your retirement benefitss and social security, but you (or they) will have to pay for your health needs.

@@francescathomas3502 Thanks for this. I was unaware but find it too expensive on my income anyway. There are a lot of countries that are the same: won't accept retirees. Scotland is another example. Guess I will be climbing to the other side of the Mexican wall! (the one that Mexico paid for? lol.)
