We take insurance to save money, so that if we are visiting Canada (in visitor visa) and we fall sick, we won't have to pay huge amounts in hospital. If you are on PR, 90 days after landing you will be on Health card as part of which you won't have to pay any medical expenses in hospitals. Ithu randum allathae student visa-yil aanenkil most universities offer medical insurance as part of their course fee. But generally speaking, there is no mandatory medical insurance and there is nothing called as IRCC approved medical insurance.
