Someone had clarified earlier in the comment that Marriage Registration Date, is the date your marriage was officially registered with the relevant authorities. This is the date that appears on your official marriage certificate, rather than the date of the wedding ceremony itself. Can you call BLS once and confirm again here please?

Hi Pramod I do have this update and they have made mandatory. If you don’t have both just fill the declaration. If you have then wait for a day or two. I know how it is done while in India, I made video earlier but from Canada I am yet to find info. Thank you for checking

I recently went to get my OCI made with all docs after watching your most recent OCI video. BLS always surprise you with new rules. Apparently, I need to spend money on creating an affidavit bc my expiry date for Indian passport was 2005 and my year of citizenship was 2006.

Please note on the 'new' rule that was recently added: I had my OCI appointment at the Toronto BLS office today and was charged $18 because I had not uploaded signed and dated Mandatory Declaration online as well as neither the BLS or Consulate website directs us to. Please make sure you upload it online as well along with carrying a copy of it. Hope this helps.

I also want to confirm if applicants who are naturalized canadians, were born in India, migrated to Canada as dependents with their parents, would be able to apply for OCI under the category "Fresh OCI card for Adults who were previously Indians" . Meaning the applicant is adult now but was an Indian as a child.

Hi if you were anytime Indian you will apply for fresh OCI card for Adults and choose roots to India as “Self”. You will have to submit your surrender certificate and cancelled passport for this.
