Funny enough most of it is. They’re going through a revamp program of the whole kit. If you go on the CAF subreddit you can find a ton of people griping about the state of the kit.

@@TrueNorthDefender Stop trying to paint a rosy picture like a simp...they were revamping kit since the Clothe the Soldier campaign that was launched OVER 20 YEARS AGO! People are STILL being issued 82 Pattern Ruck Sacks to this day and we have been having equipment shortages at the most basic levels ranging from boots, sleeping bags uniforms, fragmentation vests and helmets consistently since the 90s. The sooner we stop defending incompetence and call it out for what it is - only then things will change.

​@@288theabeTBF the issue is not one party or the other. It's been a chronic issue throughout Canadian history, and speaks moreso to our cultures' relationship with the forces(post WW's at least). Basically it's this: "America has our same interests and they do a much better job protecting them and don't need us so we'll just throw in a token force to say we participated."

We call them infanteers in Canada so it is the same in French and English.
