I love how no matter how modern the rest of Russia is, their space interface always has a retro 80s Adidas tracksuit feel.

Wow. As a native speaker of Russian, I am thoroughly impressed with his diction and level of confidence while speaking Russian. The amount of dedication involved in learning not only the complicated systems, but also the complicated language, is just beyond me. Hats of to you, Mr. Hadfield!!

hello world They also have to communicate with the ground in russian. Even parts of the ISS are russian. So it's a lot easier for the austronauts to learn it. All astronauts have to speak at least a little russian and english.

Ok, and if they'll launch from the cape Canaveral, wouldn't it be easier to put labels in Russian over the buttons instead of making Russian cosmonauts learn English?

Russia monopolist in space, this is a russian ship and russian rules. Want to fly into space then teach russian language. Russians are not obliged to simplify the lives of canadian, american or any other astronauts.
