Wow, this was my Grade 5 Music Monday song. It was such an awesome song... I still love it 9 years later. I still remember, at the age, I really wanted to be a grown up and be 20 more than anything else. Now I'm 20, in my second year of Aerospace Engineering in university, and want to go back to being 11 more than ever. I miss the simplicity, ease, and fun of those times, and especially memories like watching videos from Chris in class and Music Mondays. I know that when I'm 30 I'm probably going to look back at myself right now and be saying something similar. It really pays to live each moment to its fullest and connect with those around you.

@zachpittman70199 жыл бұрын
Bill Houston How did this get so unnecessarily heated? I seriously doubt he meant anything hostile towards anyone with his comment. So what if he 's proud to be an American? He should be, just as the canadians should be proud to be canadians. Further more don't attack someone for their innocent youtube comment simply cause you have an issue with their nation's agenda its not like he sought to shove Americanism down your throat he was just making an attempt to join in a conversation. That said i don't disagree with what you said regarding american one upism but i don't see how his comment is a relevant example of it "Forget the space race my friend, and join the human race"? Seriously aside from sounding cool (which it did so brava) what does that have to do with any topic at hand? Are americans not part of the human race? Are Canadians not part of the human race? Last i checked both were included in the human race and last i checked humans have the right to say anything they want regarding their nationality. Let the dude speak without giving him a rant on a forced and at the moment irrelevant issue.

Thank you for everything that you do!!! I truly appreciate your services! I would get lost in a daze all the time thinking of what we’ve came to achieve even just from being a planet with only water creatures too what we’ve came too now! Life itself has came too!

@Kaptain Kid You'll go to the same place that Bowie went. Sad. People think they are so high minded as they throw their lives away. Your brand of "love" is as fake as this video, but it is all you have to comfort yourself. Very Sad. It is your people that broke down "societal morays" (you feeling eel?) grammarist.com/usage/morays-mores/ Finally, if you can't see the Satanism in Bowie's last videos then you are blind, being led by blind. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaTdfap4lqhnidk

Your funny, but not in a good way , how do you know where we go when we die, you have never been there or know anybody that has. And if your god is willing to send you to the fiery pits of hell for writing a song he or she must be uncaring and intolerant and not in anyway forgiving. And you pray to this god which kinda makes you just as bad. So I think without proof of where you go when you die you are merely guessing and making it up.

I saw Chris tonight in St John's and wanted to say that his talk tonight was amazing. The big thing I wanted to say specific to this was that He played the first part of this song and people (including myself) were singing along with him. He (Ed also) have touched so many people in Canada you are a national hero, It seems like another world wide solidarity song...especially after his talk about seeing borders disappear..(new verse).. You guys did something amazing and when I saw Chris with tears tonight after and then giving his guitar pick to the girl in the front row a couple next to me broke down.....Chris is an amazing ambassador and Ed you are too. Keep fighting the long goal about maintaining out planet for our future generations. Love you both.

This is my favourite song ever. I love chris Hatfield and the barenaked ladies so much! It also reminds me of home so much. I’m from Canada, born and raised, but currently live in Minnesota and have been since I was 12. I’m now 15 and I vividly remember singing along to chris performing this song with schools across Canada. This song just reminds me of my brothers and my friends who live in Canada. I miss them so much and anytime I hear this song it makes me so happy cause I remember how amazing Canada is. 😊

Its hard to believe we have come this far with video and audio transmission from space. I remember watching the first mission to the moon and all the stuff it took just to keep in contact with a delay and static. I hope I live long enough to watch the first human walk on Mars, but I don't know if that will happen soon enough for my time. My daughter will most likely see it, but hey she didn't get to see the first moon walk so i guess we are both even.

+RID COMICS Sorry to break it to you, but I really doubt they played together live, even with our amazing technology there will still be a couple of seconds delay, too much to make music together. It's more likely that Cmd. Hadfield pre-recorded his bit and send them the files and the choir and band just matched that
@ridcomics93649 жыл бұрын
I know that just saying he did play the song most likely per-recorded no doubt but its getting a lot better then back in the early days of space technology. Cheers

I remember singing this in kindergarden with my class. i remember in kindergarden where my class and the whole school was singing his song. he later came to my school and i had no idea he was this famous. i thought he was just a random man so i didn't really pay attention. i still remember his song, back in kindergarden and now i'm in grade 6. I still remember some of the lyrics.. There was this kid he asked to play his guitar.. i still can't believe it. I'm still jealous of that kid after these years. when i was in grade 4/5 my teacher started letting us read his books and listening to his music. that was when i knew, he was this famous. I can still remember some of the lyrics. The memories that came back to me. This song never gets old
