I like the way he kept things simple and only needed an acceleration trigger to operate it. genius! I bet he turns just by shifting his feet

trigger for altitude control, weight shifting for roll and pitch and probably an accelerometer to return it back to 0degrees is what i'm guessing. at least thats what id do

That's really impressive - I want one. May I suggest a couple of things? Your throttle uses a single pot. It would be better, more reliable to use a double pot wired in parallel or an EJ longlife pot. Also, a simple pole & handgrip attached to the frame would make things just a bit more secure for you - something to hang on to. Keep up the good work.

Yeah but I honestly don't like the Flyboard as it looks like something you really can't control. You have to have an entire TEAM of boats follow you around but one guy and pliers controls this hover machine. I think this one, albeit a lot bigger and bulkier, it's lighter and much more practical. Props to Alex.

Just watched Back to the Future Part II, in which Marty goes to 2015, where he finds the famous hoverboard. Pretty cool, knowing I watched the movie in 2015, dunno why. Anyways, ironic that the times I've seen it used, the IRL version that is, it was used over water, while in the film, it doesn't work on water unless you have 'power' I think he called it, meaning a method of propulsion. Seems like basically using a hoverboard on water is like using a skateboard in thick mud. Also, needless to say, AWESOME that it was made by a Canadian! Newfie here, cheers!

Skirts around the propeller that can "focus" the energy a little, wireless power via rf with a batt pack that can handle the full current.. not sure what you're running for power, but if you're running lifopo4 then, the most in s, with the least in p and wireless real time charging will help you a lot..

well you know it's not magic, electric motors fan blades and batteries...it's just reminder that we still can't build good batteries yet, or more efficient motors ....it seems it will be a while before we'll have some good dependable propulsion for which you won't have to have little nuclear powerplant strapped to your butt to feed it.

"which has captured our imagination since Wilbur & Orville wright". I think you meant "since Joseph & Etienne Montgolfier". That said, very nice. And impressive. It may even now have a commercial use. Main problem remaining, a more efficient power reserve than today's batteries has to be found.

I know this comment is really really late, but I wonder if balancing wheels would make it easier to control on turns? Something that will fight back when you lean, and stabilize you, also giving you a rotor to make an anti-torque feeling, like a helicopter, using a joystick to operate those wheels as a manual stabilizer and anti-torque, and using your own weight as cyclic, then a gyroscope to feed it information on pitch and roll, and making an autopilot that you kinda just guide with the joystick and your own weight
