Canadian dies after competing in Galveston Ironman Triathlon, private investigation launched

The widow of an athlete who suffered a medical emergency while competing in the Galveston Ironman Triathlon has launched a private investigation. FOX 26's Damali Keith reports the family is looking to find out exactly how he died.

I am a triathlete and sorry for your loss but as a triathlete we all know the risk. Specially in the water with a lot people swimming. They can't be close to everyone. No reason for blame or sued anyone.

As a triathlete for many years now. Many poor swimmers. I used to love the mass start. Now they trickle swimmers in for safety. They keep making “safety” changes. Regardless. If you have a stroke or heat attack in the middle of the swim. Very little safety officials can do.

What an idiot. He died in the swim. Nothing pushed to the limits. 1.2miles can be swam by any age athlete. The insensitivity of some people puzzles me sometimes. You wouldn’t be saying the same if it would be your relative.

I competed in Ironman Texas in 2016 and started the swim pretty much last since I'm not a strong swimmer. I couldn't believe how many people were hanging on to the canoes and flotation devices as I slowly swam the course. It's a tough sport, and you can get pushed, kicked, and panic if you're not a strong swimmer. We all take the risk.

Anyone who has been into sports like I have my whole life and has been paying attention knows there was a sudden and significant increase in sudden deaths among high-level athletes since 2021 after being fairly steady for decades. And while correlation does not always equal causation one has to live in denial to not see some kind of connection to the jab and the sudden increase. @@pedalingparson buddy i work in medicine and I participate in Ironmans and marathons, ive been doing this sport for 10 years, in that decade ive seen deaths on races i participated almost every year, albeit I do race a lot! i was even in Galveston this year, IMTX 2018 I lost a friend while he was swimming, he was ultra fit! Done Kona, Boston l, etc. or the couple of athletes from IM ireland that drowned? so am i going to blame the vaccines back then? The math youre trying to justify just doesnt add up, the “jab” was given to BILLIONS of people around the world! Plus Biznews?!? Give me fckin break! So many reputable journals out there, published authors we choose biznews. Lol

Dude apparently should have competed within his age and fitness level. Doctors can say what ever they want but the call is yours and so is the outcome. This is a frivols lawsuit
