We had some great adventures this summer while on a 2 week vacation in Europe. My favourite was the virtual at Vimy Ridge.

Julie Jolicoeur Is that a new virtual reward or an old one? We always hunt out the virtual when we travel - they’ve always been at great locations to learn about.

Nice video! I was lucky enough to be up North for work last week, did a nice cache along Rod Reid trail in Burns Lake on my birthday and managed to get 3 FTFs while up there also (2 in Burns Lake and 1 in Smithers).

grafinator Belated birthday greetings and it sounds like you had a great geocaching adventure with +++FTF’s to help celebrate your trip around the sun :).

😂 Thanks for the video. I will definitely be checking this out as we love geo tours and trails! My family has been working on the Gold Country geo tour here in BC this summer and having so much fun.

Thanks for the comment! Gold Country caches take you to a lot of great places - we’ve done about 70 of them, so have a bit of a way to go yet!

My latest geocaching adventure was on Mount Royal, in a ravine (D/T = 3/4). Because previous geocachers had difficulty climbing directly below the cache (too slippery and loose rocks), I did the reverse. I went to other side of mountain (a longer route but a lot less steep climb) and descended to the cache. Unfortunately, the geocache was missing. It didn't survived the winter, possibly washed away this spring when the ice thawed.
@landsharkz6 жыл бұрын
All that work for a DNF :(. Will you go back if it gets replaced?
@thorhilda6 жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely. I can't wait to go back. Even if it was a DNF, I was so happy to have made it to this location. It would have been impossible for me just a few weeks ago. It's the first relatively high D/T combinaison that I tried since I got my final surgery to close a stoma due to a cancer. At last free! No pouching system.
@landsharkz6 жыл бұрын
@@thorhilda great news! That's a great way to know you're recovering well, when you can tackle these types of caches again. Woohoo!

Completed what I called "The Big Trip" in May and June and traveled through France, Belgium, London and Scotland. Visited Omaha, Gold and Juno Beaches and paid our respects at Bény-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel, Vimy Ridge and Tyne Cot Military Cemetery. all while find Traditional and Virtual Geocaches. From there it was off to London and Winchester before hopping a train to Scotland. In Scotland we visited sites related to family history, Falkirk Wheel, Loch Lomond and a host of other great sites including hosting an Event at St Enoch in Glasgow on our last night on the trip.

That sounds like a trip of a lifetime! Those would be great places to visit. Wow!

Pretty neat adventure. My recent Adventure had me hiking a trail to get to a cache that had been recently replaced. Once near the cache, had to wade out into the pond to retrieve the cache, A year after the original cache placement (original cache fell in the pond before anyone found it) I get to claim the FTF
@landsharkz6 жыл бұрын
Peter Hatcher That is a great adventure - wow! The original cache sunk and nobody could find it? Congrats on the ‘lonely’ FTF!

@@landsharkz i know😁. It's great to cache in venice. The most dificult caches are the places where they have fine sweet white wine and great food.

Landsharkz Yeah indeed! A few people have asked about it since my latest video. So maybe others will get a chance to. The closest still to me AFAIK went missing and hasn't yet been replaced. Another question - not sure if you saw it but I sent a message via Facebook with a question! (might be hidden away in FB's page messaging) When you get a chance could you take a look? Thanks! :)

On our last geocaching adventure we also found Canadian Geographic Great Trail Treasure. And then we went and found a second! Just like yourselves we headed out just after clue 3 was released, and also thought we had a first to find until we opened it and saw it had already been signed a half dozen times. That was number 7, was near Cape Spear on the Black Head Trail. Then we went to Witless Bay and found number 49. We will post pictures of our treasure finds on IG soon! @sky.skimmer & @geocaching_newfoundlander , Ryan & Stephanie. #geocachingnewfoundland

Ryan and Stephanie, geocachers certainly have the skills to locate these treasures as we have seen a few of our friends in selfies with the containers Congrats on finding two!! We are keeping an eye for more in our area!
