Criminals are not another species of being or a unified class. There are many criminals that do not have access to gun runners or whom would not appreciate the risk of being found with an illegal handgun unregistered to them. Additionally laws like this are not in place as a sole blockade prevent crime but to reduce accidents and self inflicted handgun fatalities. Im not saying i agree with the law but its reductive to assume we will have identical problems at a 1 to 1 rate because some criminals don't follow government regulations.

Yup...These useless liberal gun laws are all for appearance designed to make it seem like they are doing something and appease cry baby anti-gun activists and the rest of the sheep....pandering to the uninformed for votes. Even liberals know these laws do absolutely nothing, a matter of fact their own studies show shootings actually went up lol. @@FAILG0AT Hur dur, law abiding citizens shouldn't be allowed to own firearms because someone might forever sleep themselves or cause a firearms accident "the number of which is low to almost nonexistent in recent years". But I guess none of use should be able own a vehicle or kitchen utensils, because someone might drive into a wall or a crowd of people, or accidentally cut themselves with a kitchen knife. Yep law abiding criminals, totally a thing.... Liberal..........

There are still legal restricted rifles that have not been banned, & there are wilderness authorization to carry permits (ATC) that are being issued. So restricted licenses are needed for those Canadian citizens who can still legally buy a couple of handguns for personal protection from wildlife such as bears in remote areas where they work, & trappers can dispatch trapped animals with a 22 handgun.

I dont think flintlocks are effected. There are a few muzzleloaders and black powder pistols that are not covered by the ban from my understanding.

When you die your handguns become part of your estate. The executor of the estate can export your handguns to say the USA and try to get the value of them back. Talk to a lawyer and get some proper legal advice!
