Canadian highlander is my favorite format, and I’ve never even played it.

It’s such a great format to watch, more interesting than Commander because it’s 1v1 so it’s possible to actually keep track, more nuanced than CEDH where the decks are just full of the same set of powerful ramp/tutors, and it’s got more variety than Modern/Legacy/Pioneer because the meta is so diverse.

I’ve only played a few and it’s my favorite format by miles. It has everything exciting and magical about the game in a very pure form, it’s balanced wildly well, there’s so much variety and openness…. It’s such a shame it’s not more popular

So, I have a weird memory that just activated when Wheeler said he doesn't know why he has an Italian Porphyry Node: There's a card shop near me, about thirty minutes north of Seattle that for a very long time, had a box of Italian Planar Chaos. Those packs were a third the price of the English packs and I remember opening so many of them when I was in college. I'm pretty sure he didn't get it from there, but who knows? Maybe Wheeler stopped at Mugu Games in Everett and grabbed a pack.

The warhammer precons were very good for large artifact creatures tbh. Helbrute, chaos defiler, and knight rampager are all very playable in decks like aristoscraps and grixis artifact midrange
