I just got my Tolarian Academy in the mail and am going to be starting a Canlander night at the LGS I work at soon(Utah people, come talk to me at Galaxy of Games). Super excited to play with the card for the first time in constructed.

Fun fact, Aminatou flickers permanents so in Serge could have flickered his Glasspool Shore which would then come back as Glasspool Mimic and have it copy Solitude. This would leave him with two Solitudes instead.

1:53:30, just looked it up, and the first 3/2s for 3 are "Terferi's drake" and "Gibbering Hyenas" from mirage but both have downsides. The first 3/2s for 3 with no abilities (also the first with no downsides) are "Goblin Cavaliers" and "Gorilla Warrior" from starter 1999. Personally, I like the idea of calling 3/2s for 3 cavaliers, or at least I would if that didn't usually refer to some sort of knight.

These videos are honestly helping me come to grips with the simple fact that me disliking cards that are not canon with the M:tG multiverse are not going to go away just because I don't want them to exist. Initiative is something I'm actively trying to avoid, but I'm slowly starting to accept that these cards are actually Magic cards that exist whether I want them to or not.

A little intrigued on why Alex went for cradle instead of just wasteland with just a witness in hand. Ben said he had nothing to put the mana into but he can always use clamp to draw more cards or cycle his colorless thopters into blue ones with life gain

That restriction only applies if you are running Lurrus as a companion, which you can't even do in Canlander. Companions within the deck don't impose any restrictions.
