It was lovely video to be encouraged. I researched but didn't get any suitable answer of my confusion so maybe this is the right place, I want to know that there is a B.Ed necessary to enroll in OCT and that licensing takes one year. I only have regular Bachelors and Masters in my Subject. If I come there with a UK level 6 teaching qualification, will it be acceptable and allow me to enroll directly in OCT?

Hello mam, I really admired your video and your journey of becoming teacher.I am from india. My wife has completed her full time B.ed in 2020 along with she hold cambridge international diploma teacher training certificate completed 2012 from India, She also hold B.com degree in 2006.she has 5 years of experience as a teacher. Hi, your qualifications are good. I live in Ontario and do not know much about other provinces. You may want to contact the teachers’ colleges in Alberta or any other province you want to move to and enquire about the certification process.

You will have to first apply for certification. You can apply only after you have been approved of immigration to Canada.

You need to be a certified teacher in order to work here. A B.Ed is required. I am not sure how private schools work but from what I know, most of the private schools also recruit teachers who have a degree in B. Ed.

Teaching is a regulated profession in Canada. Unfortunately, you can’t apply from India. You have to immigrate here in order to be in the profession.

After coming to Canada, you will have to apply for certification to the Ontario College of Teachers. They will assess your papers and will let you know if you can be certified straight away or you need to do some courses to be certified.

Please don’t believe what people say to you. You have to apply to a board in order to get interview calls.... be it Peel or any other board. Also, try to do some volunteer work to add Canadian experience to your resume.

Attending Teacher’s college is not required if you have a B.Ed degree. You still will have to get yourself certified from the Ontario College of Teachers in order to be able to teach in Canada. Job market is tough but hard work always pays.
