I think the reason I love watching your channel is because you always have these little gems of description thrown in. Like, Steve would say (in Steve's voice of course) "Now let's check out that Orange Pekoe. Nice! It has a super deep aroma, almost reminiscent of a _______________ ration I tried __________ months ago. Seems to be super granular, almost an acidic undertone." GSchultz would give us a brief history on the orange pekoe and when it was introduced to that specific MRE. Gundog would be busy telling Alligator to go away. But you! YOU! "Here we have our tea....... yup, smells like tea. *(Slight pause)* Very nice." You're great at describing things, but every so often you bust out one of those, and I laugh.

+Matthew Johnston I'm glad to see that some people "get it." That's the whole point!.. I can sit here and describe the rations until I turn blue, but at the end of the day you gotta try it for yourself. Coffee taste like coffee.. what more can I say? Lol! Thanks for watching and thanks for the awesome comment

just now seeing this video, I had poutine in a local cafe here in Des Moines, not sure if it's the authentic Canadian recipe but I loved it, the one I had came with cheese and beef

soak the hard jerky in hot water and make a soup out of it lol

+Kaylynn Strain I have a video on patreon where I do soak the jerky and boil it.. it was still very tough but more manageable

+Kaylynn Strain I’m sure Canadians are outraged of the IMP Poutine... I’ve never had the real deal but I’m sure it’s good..

Baxter's is a Scottish company, with a Canadian subsidiary (hence Baxter's Canada, Ltd.) and the connection seems to be the close association between the two countries historically....

poutine in a Canadian ration is like haggis in a Scottish ration

+jojo mann (adrunkvagabond) haha nice. I'd like to try haggis one day

I've eaten haggis and it's not that bad. If you can get your mind past what the actual ingredients are, then you'll be ok.

You don't have to imagine it. Google "canned haggis"

All beverages taste better out of a Corona glass. I wish US MREs would include fruit more often. The apples much more appealing than the usual dry raisins. Tortillas, PB&J and M&Ms could be in every ration in my opinion. The poutine looks good to me - I’ve never had it but would like to try someday. Maybe use the jerky for firewood? Another 5 star review. * * * * *

I hate to break it to you Sticky but the 'chicken' chunks in the poutine are actually cheese curds.
@Sticky7458 жыл бұрын
+Momatty really? It taste and looked like chicken.
@momatty7078 жыл бұрын
Whoops, my bad. I looked at the ingredients in the vid and it clearly states 'white chicken meat'.
@Sticky7458 жыл бұрын
+Momatty haha yeah.. I had a hard time detecting the cheese curds
@robichj8 жыл бұрын
There's both cheese curds and chicken mixed in. As a Canadian, believe me when i say this is not authentic poutine. It's not even close lol
@momatty7078 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm Canadian too. I've had some bad poutine and sometimes the curds resemble something else :/ I suppose for a military ration there needs to be more than just fries, gravy and cheese :)

I guess it is not the greatest dish to be turned into ration, but makes for a great video.

Until 2 months ago, I was unaware of this meal. Since then, LOL, it seems to have become A popular review, although opinions vary on taste and texture. We shall get your opinion on it now friend. As stated in earlier reviews, I love the stove, but have concerns on stability of it. Please be careful friend. All items did look tasty ! Apparently, Canadians like their Jerky drier than ours, or, was somewhat stale?? Earlier in this review, comments, mentioned cheese curds. That was in most, if not all, of the other Poutine reviews over the last month or so. The opinion on cheese curds, seems to be what most of the different opinions come from. " Spice up the Poutine, A little bit.", question? 10 Yrs ago, did you ever think that would be said from you ,Sticky? The vocabulary, the foods, the ideas, we watch and learn from, is what makes this community great. We learn from each other, and from other countries, differences and likes, Told Ol' Mate Dropbear. I said we all get along, learn from each other, well, despite A few Nay sayers. I meant that whole heartedly !! Great review Sticky !! Great review, Peace, John. Peace brother.
@Sticky7458 жыл бұрын
+MultiMagnum62 thanks friend. Yes I'm aware there's mixed opinions on texture and flavor. I didn't catch any "cheese curds" or at least I didn't taste any. The beef jerky is the most stale and dry thing you can possibly consume. I'm not sure if that's on purpose or a production flaw. It's not good at all.. just hard as plastic with some jerky flavor. I'm always careful with the stove.. if something happens I'll remember that you always told me "be careful!" Haha.. i didn't imagine 10 years ago I would utter those sets of words lol crazy huh..

I was in Montreal years ago. After a night of bar hopping, etc, one of the French-Canadians said "Hey, let's go eat poutine!" You can guess what I thought he meant! ;-)

normaly when a poutine is fresh the fries are fresh and crispy the cheese curds a still squeeky and you gotta use swiss chalet gravy to die for....🧐 i from quebec province ..i am still here and will die here so i know my "pout"
