Let's divide that by 10,000 workers and pay it out to them and then divide the billions this strike will cost Canadians and bill them for that. $100,000 dollars owed by each striking teamster for every billion in Canadian wealth they burn during their extortion campaign. You know, as long as we're talking about who is costing what.

I was on strike at that very same spot 2 times in 1988, lockout is probably better, it might be solved quicker, funny how all these pundits are going on t.v talking about how important the railroads are to the countries economy, but the workers are always portrayed as some kind of spoiled disobedient children, the entire country should want well rested engineers and conductors driving 100+ car trains through our cities and train yards and across the countryside and through our national parks.

Because your wage, pension, days off, holidays, sick days, benefits and bonuses aren't enough? Right, completely reasonable to starve the country over. You know people on pension and disability get less than 2000 a month, some less than 1000 a month. Keep complaining greedy pig.

If they were offered all the rest they want and a reasonable wage they'd refuse it. Also, seniority is pure corruption and everyone with any sense and integrity knows this. It's very costly and dangerous. So clearly you're not concerned with safety or you'd want pay to be attached to merit, not years on the job.

The lockout may be painful. However, it is time for workers to stand for their rights, the right to fair work conditions, the right to a living wage brought right back up to todays standards. For years the workers (useless slaves as governments look upon you) have fallen further and further behind. Not standing for our rights and standing fast and strong has led to this while corporate increases profits and share holders increase dividends off your backs. Stand up Canada.

$10,000 / month isn't a living wage? Do you think they're mistreated or do you simply have no idea how an economy works? You want investment without returns for those who save and take risks to fund business? These rail company's dividends don't even cover inflation. If the stock doesn't appreciate the investors are losing money. How much do you save and put at risk for no reward? Clearly you're not willing to spend time learning about economics, so I don't take you for someone who has ever saved and risked those savings to create a job for anyone. Perhaps you shouldn't have an opinion on these matters until you've informed yourself.

@@BoreasCastel Amusing. It's odd how perception of the receiver biases their message to the sender. Believe me I likely have much much more in investments than yourself. All workers today are being mistreated. Industries with frozen wages for almost 6 years. Then no catch up. Then add government policy prompting woke dues like yourself to make idiotic comments. You should get the ransom you're demanding, workers should be free to work for the rail or any other job for that matter, without being in your gang, and then you should be billed for the billions this will cost Canadians as non-union mafia workers replace you over the coming years.
