i eat balut rarely but only for health purposes..its packed with nutrients and the key to eat it in a better way is to eat it as fast as you can that you will have no time to be disgusted by it... putting vinegar exponentially helps so eat it fast with vinegar and also prepared water, juice, cola or beer beforehand to help you swallow faster.

Chicharon is usually made from pork skin. The vinegar, salt and chili combination of the sauce helps to 'cut' the fatty taste. I'm craving for chicharon right now. Balut is best eaten warm and in the dark. It's weird but an acquired taste. The yolk is the best, then the embryo. The white is eaten optionally as its kind of tough like a pencil eraser.

I used to eat them when I was in Philippines. I can eat the yolk and soup but for the rest, i end up choking on the bones&beak so I have no regrets giving what I didn't eat to my pet cats as I know they'll love eating it. Can't wait for the Dinuguan reaction videos.

The opening part where you try and correct the chicharon experience gives me hope you will someday re-shoot this episode teaching them the correct method of eating it. PREPARATIONS: Serve it with vinigar and salt in the side. Check at which part of the egg is the air sack located (normally its in the broader tip). Most of the local ones have a marker where it's s located. It's imperical you open it at that spot so you can save the soup inside. And the white hart part be at the bottom because WE DON'T EAT THAT PART! INSTRUCTIONS: 1. OPEN a small hole at the marked part or near the air sack (enough for your index finger, or any finger to get inside) DO NOT OPEN IT WHOLELY LIKE A HARD BOILED EGG YET. 2. POKE the membrane covering the contents (the one after the eggshell) to get access to the soup inside. DO NOT DRINK THE SOUP YET! 3. ADD some vinigar and a pinch or salt to the soup. 4. DRINK the soup until no liquid is left. 5. BREAK the whole egg to get to the solid contents (highlights to the fetus inside 😅). 6. KISS the fetus first for prosperity. (Just kidding) 6. EAT the solid content (the yellow/brown one) including the fetus and enjoy the filipino culture. You may also add a pinch of salt or spicy vinegar depending on your preference. ADDITIONAL NOTES: 1. THE HARD WHITE PART, IT'S NOT TASTY (that's what mostly of your friends ate that's why they said it's bad) PLEASE DON'T EAT IT 2. Local baluts have number of days of incubation sorted and stated before being cooked. The higher the number of days, the bigger and more develop the fetus is, so if you don't want to see the prominent features of the fetus then chose around 14-16 or less (common called PENOY) and if your want a challenge then choose higher 17-18 maybe.

there is a specific way to eat balut ... and i can tell you sir are havent eaten it. anyways there is a reason why you drink the soup first so that it preps your mount with it sodium, calcium and iron broth. it opens channels on your taste buds... but say you start with the yellow first.. its fat will block your taste buds rendering you to eat like you are eating a meaty chalk . anyways it over now hehehe.
