This is my partner's first big cedar. I came over to give him a hand. The tree is a true 15 foot diameter tree. We lucked out on it, as it was hollow in the middle and was pretty easy to cut down, other than wanting to pinch in the undercut and having to make a double window to reach all the holding that was keeping it up. Enjoy, I am sure this is one of the biggest trees you'll see on youtube being felled.

Back in the day , one guy at each end of a big ass hand saw. Still some of the toughest and most dangerous work. Much Respect.

If you want to get rid of that stump, all you need is a drill, some vegetable oil, some charcoal and a whole lotta time....

more suspense than a hollywood movie. I saw a fitting t-shirt, showed a saw on a stump and captioned, 'What? I hugged it first' :)

OK People fail to realize that harvesting forests doesn't release carbon into the atmosphere, it stays in the wood. There are people who think letting the wood die and rot is better, no not so. Rotting wood uses up oxygen and releases its carbon back into the environment. Harvesting forests that are slowing down their rate of carbon absorption and replacing it with many more younger healthy trees that absorb carbon and make o2 at a much faster is a good thing in my mind; while keeping in mind that the wood that gets harvested retains it carbon long as it isn't burnt or broke down in some sort of way. We have saved more trees like the one in this video than one man can possible see in his lifetime. And all you people who google earth thinking all the forests are wiped out, that is a new young healthy more diverse forest taking its place. Even green peace leaves us alone for pete's sake. This is not killing whales, poisoning water or polluting, this is the cleanest most natural resource possible.

The tree was a great tree, but it looked like the middle was a bit soft. Have you ever herd of harvest. A time to plant and a time to harvest, just natural

I really have no problem with responsible harvesting of trees, but it's something that just doesn't seem right when cutting down these magnificent giants many hundreds or even thousands years old.

I am gonna remove all death threats and ban the people making them. I don't need to read that shit after risking my life all day at work so some little puke can wipe his ass after being a tough guy on the keyboard.

I don't know how you don't lose your mind after reading the comments that people leave on here. They have all the passion in the world to sit there and pontificate over how evil you are, just not the 30 seconds it takes to read through a couple of your own comments explaining the back story behind this tree coming down. Just turn the comments off and the monetization on so you can sit back and collect $$$ while they stew in anger, unable to let it out.

Excellent work, watching that never gets old. I think most people who hate here are sitting at their wood table, in their wood frame house, looking at their wooden deck, walking down their wood stairs, so they can watch TV on their wooden entertainment center. Uh, right.
