Victoria has experienced major fires and trees felling over the past years however, Black Saturday is one disaster that will not be forgotten. Over 2,000 homes were destroyed in the bushfire due to the extreme heat which left people helpless, and eventually having rent or stay with friends and family.
An astounding number of 210+ lives were lost in the deadly fire. Ace Tree Management noticed within minutes that there was nothing left, and something immediately had to be done in order to get these peoples lives back on track. Destroyed homes, damaged cars, no bird life, it was scary environment. Kinglake trees were definitely a hazard. Only standing with the outside of the black burnt out trunk awaiting to be tipped over, it was not a sight anyone would ever want to remember.
We used a range of equipment from cranes, bobcats, wood chippers, travel towers to get the job done and give the community a chance to rebuild what was lost. With Aces hard work and dedication, Melbourne was beginning to look cleaned up and a lot safer for the bush fire victims to return and see the life they once had there.

Awesome video ACE. Got some experience with hazard trees back in the U.S as a wild land fire fighter, so I've been around a saw or two. Anyways, your crewmembers really illustrate the amount of skill and courage it takes to do such a job. Got the guys at work watching this. Our best Sawyer says 'You all are nuts.' LOL. That is some of the most dangerous tree falling I have ever watched. I hope viewers noticed the big limb that fell to the left of the tree as one started falling. The trees shake and vibrate as they start down and limbs break loose, particularly from dead trees. Thanks for posting.

I don't understand why everyone is getting so upset over seeing the trees in this video get cut down! They are fire damaged, they are unsafe to be around, and thus have to come down. So to everyone who are complaining about these trees being cut down, stop. They are fire damaged, and could injure/kill someone if they were left standing, thus they had to be cut down!

All I can say is those men know there business!!! Especially the climbers. I get nervous at about 25ft and they climb and cut 3times that height. Awesome show of skill and nerves of steel! If I needed to cut a big tree like them I wouldn't hesitate to call Ace tree!

There is still good wood towards the top of the tree. Wood chips for gardens and animal bedding, even lumber. Shoot, fire wood. Still a lot of useful things can be done with whats left.

@transdrole Australian wild fires do that. Mostly they grow back. Many Australian native trees need fire to seed, and it adds nutrients for the understory to regrow. When I was young I lived next to bushland where you couldn't a man standing 10 feet away. After 30 years of drought, and four bushfires, you can see a rabbit from a kilometer away. Almost no understory, all the big trees are gone, and all the younger ones are spindly with thin crowns. It was beautifu once...
