Thankyou for the very informative video! I have a 1949 Cub, reverse gear will not fully engage and slips making loud almost grinding noise and the tractor only partially moves in reverse. All of the forward gears Ok, and no noises. I think you just showed me how I can fix it.

Glad you found the video helpful. You very likely could have a bent shift fork, that is a common ailment with Cubs. Thanks for watching!

I am glad you enjoy my videos and methods. After a lot of stumbling about aimlessly I've learned to start at one end and work to the other to find the problem, works much better. :) Thanks for watching!

Hi, recently brought a ih 483 , all hydraulics are working but I'm not getting enough pressure to drive my bale feeder with a full bale of silage on it, is there any way to increase pressure or volume of flow though the rear hydraulic aux lines , can't find a valve anywhere in the rear of the tractor, thanks James
@CanadianRedneck153 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with a 483, do you mean 484, If so there is no adjustment. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for this repair video. I have a 1967 Cub Cadet Low Boy with Cultivision. It has noise and harshness in first and reverse. I learned that it had cleaned a horse barn for 27 years, so those gears got a lot of use. It works. I will check the fluid and remove the top cover to take a look. Question, will it get worse and break something, or will it just be loud for another several years? You made it look doable, that is encouraging.
@CanadianRedneck158 ай бұрын
I think those transmissions were always noisy, pull the shift cover and check for any worn of chipped teeth. If it looks okay keep rolling until there's trouble. Thanks for watxching!

1st visit. A friend and I restore old Farmalls, Southern ON. Just finished a Super C. Super A in progress. Loved the video, hated the loud 'music'. So nice to 'just happen' to have new gears on hand. Do you replace bearings, seals and gaskets? Looks like old ones were trying to engage. Is that a newer Cub?
@CanadianRedneck153 жыл бұрын
I am glad you enjoyed the video. The bearings and seals were in good shape so went back in. Thanks for watching!

@@donvoll2580 I help a gentleman with health issues restore his lode. He has about 12 Restored - Super C, cubs, Super Cubs, H and some Masseys, a couple Fords and a Case. WE changed out the centre section which had broken and replaced it as well as a narrow front end from High Arch C and completely restored a Super Cub, working on another. All new seals, bearings, paint and decals as required.

I have a 140 that all of a sudden started a loud ticking any time the clutch is out. I tried all the gears and r to check if it was anything specific. All made the noise. It only stops when the clutch is pressed. Any ideas? This video is the closest thing i have found to my problem.
@CanadianRedneck153 жыл бұрын
The 140 has an oil slinger gear that runs all the time the clutch is engaged, it probably has a broken or chipped tooth. You should be able to see if you take the shift cover off. Thanks for watching!
