Amen. 🙏 The mid to late eighties often regarded as the "2nd Ice Age", the first of course being the Glorious seventies, the first Era in hockey where Aggressive, and Intimidating Hockey was truly used as a Game plan to Win, BUT Personally, the mid & late 80's was MY FAVORITE era, I think the level of team toughness was more evenly balanced, I definitely think the players in general were tougher in the 70's, but the level of the "Fight Game" so to speak, was more "Systematic" should I say? I guess you could say???...... It was then Fully ingrained into the Game, Hell, I remember the then Mayor of Boston, "Raymond Flynn" somewhere I believe during the 1986/87" season threatening to charge players for FIGHTING!!! (might have been the brawl game with Montreal when C. Nilan suckered P. Boutillier), but the mid/late 80's to me was very special.
