The Battle of Quebec was up there with the Battle of Alberta thru the 80's, thankfully we have these memories!

Better! the original "battle" rivalry of hockey teams, which is a name steeped in Canadian history. The Battle of Quebec between European empires.

@@Denon395 "Fartimis" GREAT NAME!!!!... Unfortunately you are 100% correct..... BUT, As we know, things go in cycles, so maybe one day HATE will come back. People today don't understand when I say hate, it's not just for HATE sake, I mean hate as in HATING TO LOSE.... Hating to lose ANYTHING, Hating to lose a FACEOFF, Hating to lose just ONE battle for the PUCK, Hating that team in your division because their trying to embarrass YOU, HATE is Good, HATE is Healthy..... HATE MAKES THE GRASS GROW!... Until society starts teaching kids to be afraid of Losing, and being put out on the street, or Just Plain Being DEAD...... We're not getting our REAL HOCKEY Back, but REMEMBER Everything goes in CYCLES. ☝️

Amen. 🙏 The mid to late eighties often regarded as the "2nd Ice Age", the first of course being the Glorious seventies, the first Era in hockey where Aggressive, and Intimidating Hockey was truly used as a Game plan to Win, BUT Personally, the mid & late 80's was MY FAVORITE era, I think the level of team toughness was more evenly balanced, I definitely think the players in general were tougher in the 70's, but the level of the "Fight Game" so to speak, was more "Systematic" should I say? I guess you could say???...... It was then Fully ingrained into the Game, Hell, I remember the then Mayor of Boston, "Raymond Flynn" somewhere I believe during the 1986/87" season threatening to charge players for FIGHTING!!! (might have been the brawl game with Montreal when C. Nilan suckered P. Boutillier), but the mid/late 80's to me was very special.

C'mon man. Be real. Not even a Nordiques fan, but both teams were instigators. Lemieux and Nylan meet Hunter and Mcrae. Both teams were stacked with agitators. Add a cross province rivalry and a beer war for sales; that's what we get.

@@daveyboy_ you are right. Nilan was my man! He wasn't really a dirty agitator; more like "you goofballs do your thing, when it gets serious and I need To step up I will". The Nordiques did play dirty as heck this game. Just tryin To say it went both ways; I'm a habs fan. Hunter was dirty as can be. Just tryin To say that the habs also stirred some s***; though less this game. But they still had Lemieux and Chelios... Love them both as players, but you gotta admit they were dirty as heck also.

Quebec was like the red headed step child that kept coming back to the house after the family abandoned it. Of course they were the agitators, very, very, very rarely could they ever skate with Montreal so they resorted to step child BS. Every single incident involving these teams the Nordiques tried to as much dirty stuff as possible.
