Very interesting video, I love the contrast old buildings , new buildings, graffiti, derelict land and buildings all seen from the water, plus all the different boats. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed your latest video, Canice. Great photography and editing. Nice to get on the canal again, even if it's a lot of hard work for you with all those locks. Interesting to see your surroundings, with history in bricks and iron. Many thanks, Joe F

Your hallmark "getting ready to sail" montage captivates me every time, yet this one eclipses its predecessors in charm and visual brilliance. First, I would like to include a word of caution to those youngsters: the "Wizard of the Waterways," at the helm of De Vrouwe Linda, wields the authority of a truant officer among his myriad roles-and yes, he could even officiate a marriage if called upon. Canice, while waiting for your latest Vlog, I felt a compelling urge to say “hi” to the Alchemist of the London Canals. Yet I paused remembering my last such impulse caused me to peruse Google maps for hours trying to match its street view with you panoramic shots. I undertook that digital marathon with the intention of sending a fig tree to you via Appleyard of London. I thought I could help encourage the transplanting of Jorga’s garden to Linda. But then I remembered you squeezing that big ol’ barge into those tight tunnels and under low bridges making a deck top arboretum unwise. Remember your camera (now a Don’tGoPro) hasn’t been the only casualty of tight squeezes. Not to mention, the Appleyard’s Nurseryman and I agreed that sending a fruit-bearing tree to KZbinr from across the Atlantic felt a little “Internet stalker” creepy. This time, I opted for a less intrusive means of extending a "Cheerio" from Texas. I know, "Cheerio" might not be a staple in British vernacular, but then Texans do fancy a "Howdy." As I am a ham (Uh… amateur radio operator - KD5FPA - what were you thinking?) I thought I could work the radio waves for a transatlantic “Howdy-Doo.” Inferring from your recent vlogs, Linda has pointed her bow northerly, I engaging my ham radio skills to target north London for a route to Linda’s marine VHF. *prepare for a plethora of Ham Radio jargon * I reached out through the K5SAG repeater in Saginaw, Texas, linking to the GB3LV repeater in Enfield, North London via EchoLink (Node 973404 to Node 155403). Nigel, N3YFX, answered my CQ. Our QSO was quite delightful until I broached the subject of relaying a message to a KZbin shipwright and his centenarian barge. At that point, Nigel dismissed me as a wacko internet stalker and ceased all communication. Anyhoo, I must commend the latest episode's breathtaking canal cruise and exemplary videography. The closing scene with Jorga’s garden flowers was nothing short of genius, the pièce de résistance. And who knows? Maybe there's still room for a fig tree in that idyllic tableau. Till next time, Cheerio, Michael P.S. Is "Cheerio" actually a thing in the UK, or is it just a charming myth? P.P.S. And, do Brits genuinely name their offspring "Nigel," or is that another fanciful British myth? P.P.P.S. And, how many other offensive Texas myths about the UK have I perpetuated in my comments? I should be taken before the magistrate, and sent to the tower of London!
@canicebannon2 ай бұрын
Hi Michael! How interesting. I didn’t know you could relay ham radios globally. So you’re from Texas. You’ll be delighted to know Cheery Ho is Elizabethan and probably earlier. Certainly Shakespeare used it. It’s not so common in England today, but way more common in Ireland. I use ‘cheerio’ in Ireland All children in England are called George, Henry, Charlie… etc. 😂😂😂

Love the drone shot of the side view of Linda. She looks wonderful. The cruise was breathtaking loved the variations of the building and scenery in general. Some areas look so private and what I would picture in the country, like where the birds were. I am relieved 😅 that you didn’t get stuck under the bridge. Sorry about the Go Pro 😢. At 3:56 under the bridge was a lot of pallets, it almost looked like someone had made a home there. Is that possible? Very good navigating through the locks and piloting the drone 🤩 Hope you continue to have some sunshine Canice. 😊🤗 Kathy
@canicebannon2 ай бұрын
Well spotted! The pallets is some guy building something. There is some notice saying it’s a campaign against affordable housing…. I doubt it though, which is why I didn’t dwell on it. They like having a fire under there, which is very illegal and the whole thing could go up in flames resulting in the closure of the Underground District Line. The camera was old and I was surprised it’s lasted this long….. We are having some nice weather at the moment. My kitchen counter is looking lovely now that I can sand with doors open and a breeze blowing through.😀

@@canicebannon You have so much work with editing and being that supreme influencer.. wink wink. Watched the Strontrace many times.. ok all of the vids many times.. I can totally understand getting behind with the so much going on. Fly off.. YEP... pretty much when the drone just says.. Nope.. those trees over there look awesome.. I'm going over there.. and keeps going.. Mainly its a loss of control from the base station and it forgets where it is and fly's off. A quick reset of the base station usually catches it. I have had two. Scary both times.

I’ve come to a new theory, that I ran the diesel tank down to fit the stand pipe for the heater, the lack of diesel means the fuel pump is drawing the diesel uphill and is affecting the fuel supply. There’s no external pump on the engine. I’m about to order diesel to fill the tank and I bet that sorts out the poor starts…. I think…😂😂😂
