I love that block of land there in the first half of vid, we'd stop there for hours with a big burley trail during winter bream sessions at night, and sunrise in summer it was Trev heaven! I'd say we had it good in the 90s but i experienced the trevs again near there a few years back and they were way bigger! Great video man, you hit all the nostalgia buttons for me

The tips and tricks are priceless mate and the little hints regarding eddies etc around bridges and corners are spot on. Keep the vids coming John great stuff. Maybe a trip up the sunny coast and fish the south and north end of the pumicestone passage and pass on your thoughts etc on the fishing. Some big flatties up the north end on those mud/weed banks

As always, good to see an honest video and show that you cannot catch fish on every single cast. It gives me hope, as I’ve only bagged two jacks so far this season after about 4 trips chasing them. The lack of rain has made fishing for everything tough recently, but then the rain came and made it even harder. Like you, I cannot wait for the fresh to clear, as I reckon it will be game on!

Another great segment john👍i pretty much dedicate all my fishing time to chasing jacks,I can say it does get frustrating at times,but never ever booring that anticipation is electric👍I still learn something different out of each segment you put up👍only one question something I havnt considered or tried I see the American bass fisherman doin is flurocarbon on the baitcasters.i see u like to use it straight thru on the spinning outfits,have u giving it a crack on the curado,I understand it wouldn't cast as good as braid but sometimes it's not about the distance just the accuracy and the abrasion resistance.love to know your thoughts on that 👍

Cheers Cam. Keep at it this month coming mate. It’s a great time of year esp. after this rain. I only really bother with the scents if I’ve got fuel and sun cream all over my hands. That said, I reckon it can help esp. with slow moving baits.

Great advice once again John especially about the leader length. So from the comments the Jacks are getting hard to find, where do think they're hiding, have they moved out to mouth of the systems or are they down deep sitting on bottom structure. Water temps. must be playing a big part as well at the moment, I know my pool is like a warm bath. Listen to your podcast on Doc Lures once again the other night, great stuff.

Hi John, Really enjoy your vids and tips. Just was curious to know when you are using fluorocarbon right through to chase Jacks what brand and breaking strain would you recommend? Also do you mean you spool the whole reel up with fluorocarbon as I would imagine it would be quite expensive. Look forward to your reply if you get a chance. Cheers Steve
@mylurebox4 жыл бұрын
Gday Steven ;) stoked to hear you’re enjoying the videos mate. I run 20lb vanish which I buy a spool for $30 I think it has about 250m or 125m ... and that does 2 reels for me :) it’s not the toughest fluro but you want something you can cast so it’s a good blend between those 2 things IMO

I like the KISS approach so easy to get lost in the 'what lure' game you could use one lure to fish all those locations and the only advice needed is 'get it in tight'...their ambush feeders they smack any lure fished in the strike zone the trevs are the same they see it they eat it.....where are those stonking big jacks cameras a jinx!?

Mate it’s been tough going of late. It doesn’t slow my fishing down at all, just gets me trying different things and thinking more about how to get those bites. What would your go -to lure be ? Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts again as always mate.
